My compliments, very beautiful video indeed. Of course this railway is a real masterpiece with marvellous engineering works. Nice to see a track still with wooden sleepers, with LS poles and a classic Italian catenary.

The wooden sleepers are being upgraded to concrete to go with all welded track. 11:43

Some fantastic engineering on that line; look at that embankment at 39:45.Interesting view at 29:05, and a little disconcerting too if you didn't know there was a passing loop there.

I like the "beep beep" horn they have in those locos.

+AndreiTupolev that "meep-meep" meens, that the last wagon has left the zone of speed limitation (I don´t know the technical term) and the train may accelerate again - that´s why siemens programmed that "meep-meep" horn: it´s from the cartoon "Road Runner & Wile E Coyote"

A "trend" that seems prevalent in all of these Euro/train videos is the total lack of wildlife to be seen along the tracks. Are they really gone or what. On the other hand however I would really like to take a rail journey over there and see the sights. Incredible. But with the finances.....................

The locomotive i'm driving is Öbb 1216. It's the same as SZ 541

+not_a_russian I probably won't record night journeys because my camera preforms poorly in low light. So you'd be watching mostly black screen for an hour..

Don't know the exact weight and lenght.. these trains are about 500m and 1300 - 1400t
