Lyrics:
Driving through West Virginia
And I’ve seldom been thinner
With that chip on my shoulder
This past year I got so much older
Lookin’ back over my life
Spent the most of it tongue tied
I wish I’d had more time
Listenin’ to you speak your mind
Now I’m thinkin’ about her everyday
On my mind atypical way
Are you a life force?
Thinkin about her everyday
On my mind atypical way
Are you a life force?
Drinkin’ coffee black as iron
And I couldn’t be much higher
Without fallin’ out of my chair
Been so numb for so many years
Now I’m thinkin’ about her everyday
On my mind atypical way
Are you a life force?
Thinking about her everyday
On my mind atypical way
Are you a life force?
And it's so easy
To be blinded by the light
To feel lonely in the night
This blowing in the breeze babe
I got dust in my eyes
And rust in my mind
I'll be home come next spring
Won't you say you love me later, by and by
Looking back over life
Spent the most of it tongue tied
Pullin’ my belt tight
Just me and the stars tonight
Two fingers and a tight line
Keep my head above the alpine
Just wish I'd spent more time
Listenin’ to her speak her mind
Thinking about her everyday
On my mind atypical way
Are you a life force?
Thinking about her everyday
On my mind atypical way
Are you a life force?
Thinking about her everyday
On my mind atypical way
Are you a life force?
Thinking about her everyday
On my mind atypical way
Are you a life force
for me?

I don’t mean to be a downer and i don’t know what this was written about, but I’m in rehab about a week into being off opiates for the first time in 20 years. I’m in a tiny town out west, I keep listening to this as I sit by myself early in the morning watching the starry sky turn into day, listening to the river flow free, and the song is just perfect.
This shit is a “stop what you’re doing” song. One of those “you can only hear it for the first time ONCE” songs
This was my wedding song<3
And they said folk music was dead. (Said no one) love this song.
This song was playing in the EMT pocket that pulled me from my mangled harley while he was off duty saving my life forever thankful to Craig Jones.
Don't know why, but every time I see a new group with extra vowels in their name, I have to check them out. Rarely disappointed. Niice 👍
This song will take you where you need to be
RIP Momma, you were such an amazing Life Force. I love you ❤
This was introduced by a nurse when i was was in ER. My last name is Camp. She recommended this.
i’ve known and loved this song for a long time, but reading all of these comments on how other people relate to it makes it hit so much harder somehow… i wish all of you peace, love, blessings… everything good in life
I introduced this song to my former boss during the height of COVID - work team was putting together a song playlist. He said he really really loved this song. He told us shortly after he had cancer, and recently passed away last November of 2021. I like to believe he thought of these lyrics as a reflection of his life and his wife... "...looking back over my life, spent the most of it tongue tied.... I wish I had more time, listening to you speak your mind... thinking bout her everyday on my mind atypical way....are you a life force?"
My mom died in a motorcycle wreck when I was 15, it fucked my life up in so many ways, it ripped my family apart. Ahe was the rock that held us all together. None of knew how much we really needed her till she was gone. But hear i am able to shed tears of joy because she tought me so much and i didnt even know. Life is amazing, and its okay to be sad sometimes. Love you mom
I just can’t understand how anyone could give thumbs down to a caamp song.
I live in Hawaii. I rarely travel but that feeling of traveling is what this song gives me. I imagine driving in a distant land and listening to this discovering the world. But I am just in my room , on a little tiny island in the middle of the ocean . Life is perfect
Rest in Peace Jeff Burton. You were one of a kind. I will miss hearing you on the air so much, and will never forget you.
Song hits so close for someone who lives in good ole WV, literally dropped 30 pounds, has always had crippling social anxiety, has come of age and given up on dreams, is now learning to take care of their sick mother, and is constantly worrying about her, etc. Although I don't need to ask because I know she is a life force.
This may be the most unique and underrated song I have heard
Discovered this band while sitting in the hospital recovering from surgery after a car crash, safe to say I listen to many albums and just made me feel like everything was gonna be okay, and everything ended up going great and got discharged early too and was finally able to see my family for the first time in a week thanks to covid
his voice is so calming they are my new favorite group this is where I come when I need to think
Oh man this song is so wholesome sounding
