    only thing i would change is i would center the joint in the tubing and taper both sides i just think would look more uniforme. great video thanks for sharing

  • @HardCoreFab

    Fair enough but I will be bolting it to the bracket with one tab that is off the side of the chassis and with one tab off the bottom of the frame rail. If you center it now the trailing arm will hang out pass the side of the chassis. I thought it would look cleaner to flush it up. I guess I could weld down both sides of the bung on the inside of the tube if I did it your way. Hmm Can't work on it today any more anyway with all the 4th stuff going on so I'll give it some more thought.

    Hey could you make a bracket for the fenders on the frame, but then a slide rod on the axle so the fenders would be over the tires no matter if it is lowered or not. Just a thought. Can’t wait to see finished product!

    Looks good! Are you going to box the inside of the frame? I think you have created a weak spot where you squared off the frame for the bag mount, I boxed my P30 camper chassis to make it strong enough to tow with

  • @HardCoreFab

    @HardCoreFab

    3 күн бұрын

    It's all welded back together and the frame is doubled up in that area as well so it's over a 1/2 think in that spot. I'm not scared of it all all! Also if I box it there I wouldn't be able to unbolt the bag mount if needed

    Loving this build! Im looking at doing something similar with either a '64 Ford T850 or a '55 model B Mack. Or both. I've been struggling to find a good good front suspension that is wide enough to fill the fenders and not deal with air brakes etc. Now if I can just get over the hangup of sliding a GM chassis under a Ford truck...

  • @HardCoreFab

    @HardCoreFab

    Yes compressed when setting up the truck at full drop. On the rear I am using bags that are from a semi so a bit different then what you normally see. They are 8inches tall when compressed.

  • @tonyl3146

    Doesn't the diameter of the air bag enlarge when under load? Do you have enough room from the bag to the notch, so they wont touch when bouncing down the road?
