I got Corsa with an automatic it starts cracking just before shifts at Full Throttle it came on the car when I bought it... I'm happy with it. Keep banging the gears. Phil the Vette man, third one...

I had the same exact system on my 2000 FRC when I bought it, had no identifying markers or stamps either. I liked them, but needed something to really compliment my TSP catted long tubes. I went with some Borla Straights and now my car sounds down right scary when you're next to it at WOT. Good job on your search, I ended up selling my Corsa system for around 200 dollars. The guy that bought it said that it looked like a Corsa system and was sure that I wanted to let it go for 200, I said it was all good.

Congrats, you have the greatest sounding best built system you can put on your C5. CORSA’s manufacturing facility is around the corner from our home in Berea, OH. End of every July they do a Corvette show with the Club of Cleveland. There’s music, food, tours and every vintage and configuration of Vette you can imagine. They also do a show discount and free install that day for Vette owners. If you ever make the journey our guest room will be open!

Corsa made three systems back in the day for the C5: Corsa Touring(quietest), Corsa Sport(used to be called Indy Pace Car), and Corsa Xtreme. They only make the Sport and Xtreme now. The classic round tips were available with both the Touring exhaust and the Sport exhaust. The only difference between the Touring and Sport is an extra baffle near the inlet tube. You may have either the Touring or Sport, but that's truly the only way to tell. It's hard to tell based on sound alone because you have heads and cam. I used to have a Touring that came with my car with the same rolled tips, but I switched it out for the Sport with tigershark tips. The Touring is quieter at idle than the Sport, but at WOT, they both pretty much sound the same.

Thanks for making this video! Just bought a C5 and couldn’t figure out if it had stock exhaust, turns out it doesn’t! Looks like I have a Corsa system as well but I’m guessing likely the Touring version because it doesn’t sound quite as aggressive as yours at idle. Thanks again for such an in depth search!

Like I said, I have heads/cam/headers so it’s going to sound more aggressive than stock with Corsa.

Do it now! You've seen the vid, heard the difference, and you just won't be satisfied any longer til you take the plunge. The only tip I can give you is to keep the OEM exhaust in the garage and don't sell it.

...I have the B & B Bullets..not for the meek...deep sounding exhaust with NO MUFFLERS...these will give you an honest 18 hp increase and are half the price of most after market systems..I get complements all day long....I figured that the Corvette is essentially a racecar with a license plate and that the ground should shake a little bit...lol...

I also have been trying to discover what "axle back" exhaust system is on my '04 vette. Looking at the muffler and tips, I thought mine was from Billy Boat. Because it looks like yours, and mine too. So now I'm wondering if that was wrong. I guess I'll just have to examine it really close to see if there's a name, or number on it. So thanks for this info on your exhaust.

I recently bought a `06 C 6 w/27k mi. on it. It has a Borla Atak cat back. Somebody liked it enough to spend $1800 on the exhaust but they didn`t use it much.

I just picked up this exhaust used from a friend who just bought a C5. Hope mine sounds this good.

OBX made Corsa knock offs as well, that sounded identical to Corsa systems. They also looked very similar. Although it could be either one, it does sound like a Corsa. Sounds almost like mine, except yours is quieter. Those tips threw me off big time.

Hey Chris, I had been curious if I had the Corsa extremes instead of the sport I ordered based on the loudness after I installed them. Your pictorial confirms I have the sport exhaust. What made me question all this was that I wasn't expecting the sports to be as loud as they are because they sound like extremes when you stomp it. Of course, as you mentioned, your VETTE and mine have cams, intakes, and other mods which boost the volume. But I really thought they had mislabeled at the factory and sent me the extreme disguised as sport based on pure loudness. This vid helps put it all to rest. I guess the only thing left to say is I can't imagine what the extremes would sound like on mine. Thanks for posting!!!

Mines an 02 Z with 64k on it. I've got several mods professionally installed. The only thing I've had to replace, involuntary, was the water pump.

Yep, X pipe and long tube. It's way quieter with stock manifolds.

I have a similar Cam/LT/Xpipe setup but my car has straight pipes from the axle back. How loud your car is at idle and at highway speeds? My car is awful to drive for anything more than 15 minutes due to the noise. Also I leave for work at about 4:15am so is it piss off the neighbors loud, or just good tone and decent sound?

@@mycorvettelife the tachometer and speedometer. The rest works fine. The speedometer is dead and the tachometer is laggy and inaccurate.

I would check Corvette Forum. Do a little research. I’m sure someone has had the same issue. Taking the cluster out is a huge pita. You have to remove the whole dash.

Ideally, yes. Especially if you delete any cats. If you just swap the axle back system, then no.

It’s a C6 shift knob.

...LS1 is one of the greatest engines ever made..all I did was put on an AirRaid intake, Magnaflow High-flow cats , and the aforementioned B & B Bullets..these mods increased the gas mileage and gave me some serious seat of the pants acceleration..cams, heads, headers...no thanks...my fast and furious days are long gone...lol...

I can NOT get my exhaust to stop moving. After driving it the pipes move!! I even got a completely different system...its doing the same thing! HELP!

I did....it caused the car to vibrate terribly. TRULY sucked!! I wound up buying a completely different exhaust. I will never do THAT again!

So do you think because of aftermarket parts being installed on your car, that someone may have monkeyed around with the bolt on the bracket that broke in the back on your sway bar? I find that extremely unusual. What happened with your battery? Did it need a charge or did you replace it altogether?

Unlikely. I’ve been under the car quite a bit is the nearly 2 years of ownership and it was never loose. Video coming on the battery issue soon.

You know what I hate? The alignment of my tips. they dont all meet flush...the two inside ones are set closer to the car. so all 4 are set in a semi circle pattern. The guy I bought it from said its an aftermarket system. He gave me the stock exhaust....and I love the way it sounds....on the quiet side but has this 'turbine' type of sound. I just do not like the way the tips all line up. Maybe its designed that way??

No, it's not the way they are designed. One of your hangers probably came loose. It's a common issue.

I have a new Borla S-Type II System on my C5 and I can't get the tips perfect no matter what I do. I spent a few hours under the car trying to adjust everything but nope.

Headers right??

My C5 came with an exhaust that wasn't labelled and it looks like yours. I guess I have a Corsa exhaust also.

Where do you drive this fast in town to go though gears like that. My neighbors within a five mile radius would be calling the police every time I pulled out of garage. Not sure I would blame them though. I have a 2004 with stock exhaust,plan on keeping it to keep peace in neighborhood.🤔👍

Just curious, Ive got a 2000 c5 basically stock. The compressor for the AC went out and I was quoted 1000+ for the repair. Its tight in there and I've watched a couple videos on different techniques from removing it by jacking up the motor or taking out the water pump. Im not equipped with a good location to do this myself however a grand seems like a little to much. Anyone know what would be a normal price. Id shop around but everyone wants the 120 an hour diagnostics.

Remove the exhaust manifold and pipe and you'll have all the access you need to remove the compressor. If you are mechanically inclined and know a little about AC work or have a buddy that has gauges and a vacuum pump, it's not a hard job. You'll save 800 doing it yourself.

@@mycorvettelife when you take off it makes the dining noise , when you Accelerate the dinging noise will happen again but if you are in park or in neutral and rev the car the dinging noise is not there when you reverse you can barely hear it

C5 std hp is about 330 while C7 is 460. If you can go for C7 and get the extra hp built in plus other upgrades.

They are very different cars. Drive both if you can before you make a decision. The best part of a C5 right now is the bargain.

That design of a muffler seems just straight pipe. Perhaps the inlet tube wraps into a U-shaped inside the casing with mandrel bent piping but yet there is no hoes in the mandrel bent to vent inside the actual housing giving it an appearance of a muffler but instead it's just straight pipe. Course couldn't charge you the extra money to just sell you some straight pipe.
