Man, I love this tutorial! Your voice, the music, the pace, it's just really perfect in my opinion :) The only thing bothering me a bit is the screen glitch (not quite sure if it's a glitch or if you did it on purpose) on the right and left of the screen :)
@DanielDanielsson

Thanks! The 'glitch' is just to get it 16x9 format, but might be better just to leave it with black bars.

One trick that would significantly speed up the process of animating the jellyfish along its initial spline: Animate one pulse of the jellyfish, then go into the Timeline F-curve mode, select the animated parameters in the timeline, go to Functions > Track After > Offset Repeat After. This will automatically repeat the jelly's pulse motion along the spline.

hmm for some reason my object disappears when I hide the lathe, I added the lathe in the object for connect just like video :/ did they change this functionality? using r17
@DanielDanielsson
7 жыл бұрын
Could be an R17 thing... Just don't hide it, it should go invisible as soon as the Connect references it. Thanks for checkin' the vid!

Awesome tutorial! Any chance you could tell us how this would be done with fields in Cinema R20 onwards?
thnk you for your time ur a geniuss
Hello and thank you for the videos, I have a big problem with the mid hairs they are generated above... totally the opposite of the logical sense when I select exactly the same part as on the video...
daniel can you please help me, when i select the spline and click on lathe, a lathe layer appears but nothing happens in the perspective view, i don't see any 3d object.
damn how awesome is that? thanks alot. :)
Inspirational.
Wow.....cudnt be better... thanks heaps Mate...
EPIC.
wow very nice

awesome
Great tutorial, but it seems that I can't follow the same steps on a recent version without having issues, I had to discovered my own way to get there and the interest thing is we can reduce some steps and get a great result as well.
thanks a lot !
Brilliant, as always! 10/10. Thank you sir. Could you make some stuff about xpresso in the future, please? It would be so interesting and helpful.

9:07 IS there a automated way of doing these keyframes? It's mostly the same thing - every so and so move by 5%.
Can somebody help plz. I did this tutorial but my scene gets really heavy when I play the animation but I see in here how smooth it is played in the tutorial. why my cinema 4d gets so heavy quickly with a bit of dynamic animations ?!
Hi the pen you use at the beginning of the video to which instrument corresponds in 2017 version of cinema 4D?
Hi! At 3:50 I can't move the selected points up, any idea why? I'm using R20, Is there a way around it? Thanks.
When I drop in the subdivison surface it doesnt make it round, just nothing happens, any ideas why???
3:33 When I press U-L it selects 2 strings at the same time. Not only one. How do I select only 1? (Amazing video, btw! thanks for it! :) )
Thank you so much for these tutorials Daniel! i struggle with 1 thing on this tutorial, hope you or anyone can help me on this. problem is when i try to animate the jellyfish along the spline and set the keyframes it doen't sync right. the swooshes are there, movement too but it doesn't look right. it swoosh and move at first like it should but later on the spline it move and swoosh so totally out of sync or how do you call it. again thank you so much for these great tutorials, this is my first i follow, but i love how you explain it, it's a joy to follow it :)
@staler75
5 жыл бұрын
i got it! my framerate is set to 30, somehow lowering the framerate didn't work so i had to adjust the timing for the keyframes to match the 30 framerate so instead of 50 steps i had to do 60. beginners mistake i guess hahaha
Ace tutorial. Getting stuck at adding a linear field instead of falloff in R20. I can see the spline animated under Bulge/Linear Field/Remapping tab, but the connect object / Jelly does not move. Adding a jiggle does nothing. Any hints?
nice ! But please tell me why you have to add it to connect + correcttion instead just use correction ?
AT THE BEGINING I DO THE CONNECT OBJECT BUT THE LATHE DISSAPEARS HOW CAN I CORRECT THIS (R18)?
I love this tuotirial! It's very useful and clear. I'm doing this tutorial but actually i'm not that able in Cinema 4D; i have a little problem with the friction object: i can't find it! I'm using Cinema 4D Studio R18, maybe the friction is part of a plugin?

How would you duplicate this to have multiple jellyfish, but with offset timing in animation in terms of the jiggle ?
nice tutorial!! :D do have a question though;; how would you do the falloff in the newest C4D, with the fields? I've been trying to find a way to do it but im really struggling aha!,, Also, very nice voice btw, makes the tutorials more enjoyable ~

for the newest versions of c4d u can add linear field to the bulge effect once added u go to the remapping tab scroll down to contour and change mode to curve, your spline graph will be visible.. to add more points to the spline u can right click on the graph, spline presets,custom, change number of points

god of c4d
You lathed the shit out of that spline 🤣👌🏽
The connect object step at 2:25 doesn't show the geometry for me after turning off the lathe :( Any advice?
Just what I needed for a project! Tho, I am having some trouble scaling it smaller without the model going crazy. Any tips how to do it?
@DanielDanielsson
7 жыл бұрын
Could be the jiggle? In which case, make sure you scale it down on the first frame. Otherwise if you've got polygons selected and are scaling those down, the correction objects could misbehave. So make sure you're scaling the Object and not the geometry. Maybe add your full Jelly to a null, and scale the null down?

How i animate with Falloff in R20 ? Help :(
For some reason, whatever I put as a reference into a Connect Object, disappears if I hide the Original Object. Did something change in newer Versions?
Good stuff! "Lathe the shit out of it." LOL :P Learn a lot from you. :)

Gotta learn how to lathe the shit outta stuff! :)
Hey thanks for the tut! The dragging of the Lathe to the Connect object and hidding it does not show the model for me. I followed it step by step without any luck. R19 version. Any reasons why the Connect is not showing anything on screen?
@DanielDanielsson
4 жыл бұрын
Newer versions of C4D seem to do that with connect objects, so there's no longer a need to hide the original. (Think this tutorial is in R16 or R18)
Hey dude its been a long time since you're video, I'm working in R22 right now and it can't for the life of me figure out how to get the animation working when you apply the jiggle deformer with the bludge!
@valentina.ferran

same, did you figure it out?
can u make tutorial for octaine for this.standered randers take for ever
And you translate the drawn spline into a polygon? Ie if you do not translate on and off the Lathe the spline disappears. Or maybe I'm doing something wrong?!
