c4d Tutorial - 3D Motion Tracking and Compositing [Redshift / After Effects]
In this #c4d / Redshift tutorial we are going to be creating a cgi cloth that will appear to be generated by a jogger running along some train tracks.
Starting off in After Effects we will be creating an image sequence from the footage - drive.google.com/file/d/1wSr8...
With our image sequence rendered we will be bringing it into the c4d 3d motion tracker to track the camera. That will allow us to add the red cloth and have it seem like it's actually i the shot.
We'll be lighting our scene and rendering it all out using Redshift - For those of you who don't want to wait for your cloth to render out here's a full image sequence you can use for the final part of the tutorial - drive.google.com/file/d/1v7Zo...

Nice tut. But why did you rotoscope? You can isolate it in Cinema4D and export a alfa.

@@jbmocean399 If you look into exporting puzzlemattes from C4D using the AOV manager you can assign an object ID using the redshift tag to the cloth and get your matte for AE, saving the need to roto. Look up the EXtractoR plugin to then select your puzzlematte from the RGB channels in AE. Not a full description but some googling and you'll get it. Nice tut :)

I literally had a mini meltdown around the 25:00 min point. Like I fucking know right?! I feel I can't navigate C4D anymore after the 2022 update. My instructor showed me how to use the dope sheet on the 2021 version, so this makes me feel a lot better not knowing how to navigate the dope sheet in the newer version and losing key hotkeys that used to work

Exactly! Super frustrating
I have a really big problem with my project. So they've moved the back plate settings to the camera, so there is now a Background tab in the RS camera which you can override and add your animation. However you don't get this option with a Solved Camera, so I can't find a way of adding the animation to the background!

rather than using roto brush directly export cryptomatte or puzzle matte while rendering in cinema 4d
