Hmm yea, this does sound like what a first song by them would be like. There's an eagerness to this version, some parts with the instruments felt (obviously) rougher around the edges and the lyrics were different at some points. Seems like with the Flos Ex Machina version they gave it their all to draw out the beauty of this song using all that they learnt as musicians in the 11 years between these two versions. It feels like a very personal song and maybe that's why its arguably my favourite one by them. What a journey it has been. Being able to listen to both these versions one after the other, I feel blessed. Thank you for uploading this.

The older versions definitely have a roughness that stands out compared to later versions. I especially love their live version as it’s one of their most raw and passionate performances.

@@qtorai From what I know, this specific version of Maze was only given out at live events. This one in particular is extremely hard to find, and I managed to get a physical copy after waiting a year for another one to show up online. If you're on the lookout for some of their rare stuff, I'd recommend looking through mercari frequently, since that's where I was able to find copies of overlap and overkill.
