I remember the first time I heard this song, I was just struggling with life and everything was hitting me... And this unexpectedly came on, I'm already a fan of Celine so I turned it up and listened. Boy oh boy, that was the best drive home. I cried so hard and I knew that Jesus had heard me. There's something about when she hits that last note, that it's like her voice reaches the heavens. I can't explain it, but it touches my soul. Merry Christmas everyone, we will make it through the rest of this year together. Just wanted to edit this and say Merry Christmas and check on everyone since it's been about a year. Okay, check out on youtube video "Georges Lemaitre" or "father of the big bang". Father Lemaitre is a Jesuit, astronomer, mathematician and scientist. Oh hear the angel voices. The angel voices were commanding the shepards to fall on their knees and prostrate themselves before the newborn baby who was born so they may live, that they were in the prescence of their lord and savior, the son of Man. It is just the most beautiful attestation of who and what this baby was born for. The beauty and simplicity is so powerful. They were just waiting for Celine to sing it and establish it as one of our most holy and revered Christmas song.

Driving home one dark night after a long hard day, Christmas music on the radio but I wasn't really paying attention, mind preoccupied with trivial concerns. Then this song came on. Oh my goodness. All the day's hassles and distractions dissolved from mind, replaced by this pure clear voice that filled and overspilled my heart. Had to pull off the road, because I couldn't see through the tears. There was no traffic, no light, just a sliver of moon above, and I rolled down the window and breathed the cold night air as the song ended. And it was a holy night. Amen.

The authority with which she announces that Christ is Lord made me cry as an atheist and does still now as a devoted Christian. That lady has pipes. This is a beautiful rendition of this song. Her fourth Noel - wow. The control she has over her instrument in incredible. I am not a huge fan, I don't like a lot of her songs but there's no denying that voice and the control she has over it second by second. I love how David Walter tried to be that guy who cheered you up & “noticed you & your sobfests” & As If they truly Do NOT want anyone noticing both arlene & Suzanne totally diss poor David by ignoring his kind efforts! Wow! Maybe theres a Reason you 2 cry all Alone! Too rude for words but i just had to point out the irony of the weird women who moan & complain about all the attention the Don’t get BUT then when they get it…… its dismissed as “creepy” Or outright ignored! Shut Up you whining infantile worms!

The first time I heard this version the build at the end gave me chills.

@lisahouser9409 I have been listening to this version since 1999 after some mates turned me onto it during a different season for me. I started off with the cassette tape of this and I agree with your comment 100%. It makes me sad that she lost the Love of her life too. Renee Charles, Rip. Thank you for your comment. ❤

And her voice is so incredibly beautiful. There are few other female singers who have such a beautiful voice. Cher, Kathleen Battle, and Celine are incomparable. Each woman's voice is distinctive and sublime!
