1991 performance is a lot better.

In the entire history of time itself, i was lucky enough to share a world with Celine Dion. What a powerhouse. Look at her as she performs - living IN the music, not just performing.

I've lost count of how many times I watched this performance. The vocal range, the power, the control, the virtuosity, the melisma, the emotion, the passion...that no one can top. A songbird Goddess. Period.

Her neck/throat have been badly affected, it made it almost impossible for her to sing. She is determined and on the mend though, she's worked really hard to reclaim her voice, she's getting there. La version de Bruno Pelletier est bien supérieure à mon avis. Céline met beaucoup trop d'effets et de pauses étranges. Une ou deux pauses auraient été bien suffisantes, mais à chaque couplet ça devient très vite fatigant.

@@BlindSp0tz Votre commentaire est aussi pertinent que le mien. Aimer Céline n’enlève rien à l’admiration que je porte à Pelletier. Les deux n’ont pas eu la même carrière faut dire…bien qu’il aurait pu se rendre très loin sans ses hésitations à s’exporter. Reconnaissons que l’héritage artistique qu’elle laissera à sa retraite sera absolument gigantesque et qu’aucun autre québécois ne pourra en dire autant. Ça relève du phénomène! Pourtant, ça n’enlève rien à personne d’autre de chez nous. Ce qu’elle a construit on ne pourra jamais lui retirer. Seulement Ginette aurait pu s’exporter aussi bien si elle n’avait pas eu peur de le faire et si elle avait eu un manager aussi pugnace. Conclusion….J’adore Bruno Pelletier qui lui admire Céline et sans hésitations ni comparaisons bancales.

Mais en relisant votre commentaire original vous n'en faites absolument pas mention, j'étais donc totalement à côté de la plaque. Toutes mes excuses. Il est clair que Céline a une voix unique, inimitable, et absolument maitrisée. Une très grande chanteuse sans aucun doute. Elle ne me plait pas particulièrement mais je reconnais bien volontiers son immense talent.

Voilà pourquoi je ne me lasse pas de l'écouter. C'est incroyable. La meilleure a mes yeux

Céline is not French but Québécoise. It was originally composed by Michel Berger with lyrics by Luc Plamondon and was released in 1978 for the musical Starmania.

So beautiful, even without not knowing what the words were in English, you just can feel the passion when she sings. I have loved her since I was 5 so for nearly 30 years, she still and always has been my favourite singer of all time, I could listen to her sing all day ❤️
