Souvent quand j'écoute Petrucciani, j'ai l'impression que c'est un costaud de 1,95 m qui joue. Un costaud qui ne serait pas dénué de finesse, mais un colosse. Tant de puissance, d'articulation, de précision rythmique dans le flot des notes, un discours toujours en avance, souvent surprenant, qui joue sur les répétitions créant des tensions et la libération qui suit. C'est un sacré musicien et un bonheur de l'écouter.

Mini-beast on keys. He had the talent for sure and was still learning. No telling how great a jazz pianist he would have become. RIP.
