    You Can use a special set of pliers that have a half moon shaped loop at each end of the tool at an angle. It loops around the spark plug boot and you squeeze/pull otherwise you’ll fight them.

    Good video. Glad you didn't remove the plenum assembly (cover with the 'V6' logo at 0:47) like some videos show - if you do remove it you need to get new plenum seals (don't re-use the old ones!) and they are not cheap else they will leak air and the engine management light will come on after a week: I know that because that's what my Mercedes dealer did 😣

    That’s not true. I’ve reused them many times without a problem. I suspect they were not in place properly when the upper intake was installed.

    Camera provided a clear view of this engine, only missing the real -time removal of the wiring harness and all it's weird clips. What tools are best for that?

    I just did it without removing the manifold and am glad I didn't go through the extra trouble. That rear plug didn't seem so hard to me. I'm sure watching this video saved me a little time though.

    How to free the wires for the computer from the bracket you removed? There is a “screw” on the bottom the zip tie that’s screwed onto the bracket.

    Great video. I do agree rear plug on driver side is pain in the ass to remove. After struggling for an hour I was unable to remove it. So now I have 5 new and one old plug lol. Lets see if I get any misfires in future. Thanks for making this video. Appreciate it man!

    Good video my guy thinking of doing it myself instead of taking it to a shop! My only concern is do you have to torque the new spark plugs to a certain lb?? And do you have to change the coil packs also or can you just do the spark plugs?

  • @UnicycleWheelie

    @UnicycleWheelie

    Depends on the miles, my car had 60k, 23 Nm/17 ft.-lbs. on the plugs. 9 Nm for the coil pack bolts....NGK recommends a torque range of 18 ft-lbs to 21.6 ft-lbs for their plugs.

    some of my coil on plug was hard to pull off, just use your judgement, that is why I used dielectric grease on the boot of the coil packs. they fit very snug

    Well, unplugging the battery resets your clock and radio stations, which is a pain. First rule when doing anything to the ecu is to disconnect the battery. Just like any computer you need to unplug it before you work on it

    Your better off taking off the plenum and having full access???? It’s 4 bolts and you will have full access to all plugs and coils. ? I get you got to buy 3$ gaskets and swab em if you take the plenum off but shit this is a 5 hour job vs a 2hour lol. Take off the plenum and be done man.
