don't think you understand the concept of the game, you're not in the command center or the game would be over when the command center is destroyed, you are using a satellite feed from a distance and commanding troops. command center is just that, a center for commands that connects to the satellite feed (although even in this game all it's used for is creating builders so)

Most op is USA super weapon general with her ridiculous aurora alpha (or just usa in regular generals), which you literally cant hit before they drop the bombs, and her defence actually defends, just maintain a good economy and destroy the opponents with auroras which WILL 100% destroy whatever building u want, also 1 alpha can destroy a whole army if its grouped up

I can't even 1v1 a Brutal Teehee. But then again, last I played this I was 12 years old... and now I am 21. I miss this game.

This brings up so many memories. I used to spam Superweapons like crazy. I used to only build defensive buildings and superweapons at significant distances. Even made my friends rage quit. Aaah... sweet memories.

Came for the title, stayed for the music, left because the video ended.

Got lucky they didn't build many/nearly any superweapons. Do it on Zero Hour....

yeah thats what i was thinking while watching, zero hour is much harder.

This game was fun but I hated how the camera is so close to the ground and everything looks big but you don't have vision for a big area. It also had a bug that made the game very slow if you built a lot of units and played for a long time. They should just remake this game with a better engine.

+FMFvideos This game was designed for a past generation of PC hardware. Having a wider view on the map will require the game to load a lot more data on the hardware, mainly the GPU and VRAM, and will have it unplayable for most PCs of the time. That being said though, this game's engine is really crappy. EA didn't do anything about it.

I wish I was as good as you. But how come they didn't send any artillery units like, nuclear artillery or tomohawk rockets etc.? When I fight against hard, they always spam a shit load of annoying far distance units / artillery units. That's the only reason why I loose.

He's not that good actually, just taking advantage on silly comp AI. They send long range in ZH, not so much in generals. Running a single man in front of your army helps, as AI tries to long range kill the man, then your army can rolls up behind and crush them.

ViperStealth The PC can be really unfair. I just did a 1v1 match against the PC on a small map. Like 5 Minutes after the match started, 4 tank & other units per second are being sent to my base. How can it even afford that much units in that amount of time?! And then on each side 4 of those tomohawk missiles. Impossible. Quite OP.

Leon Graemmler there's a was around everything on this game. To anti rush, put some defence in front of your base facing your opponent which can also shoot air. This will nullify the tomahawk launchers. Then just spam rocket men. They're cheap and efficient with dealing with tanks. Remember to garrison if you can, makes a huge difference.

ViperStealth meh, to anti rush just do a faster rush, with gla: 4 workers from command center, barracks, supply dock and barracks very close to the enemy base, spam auply docks all around he map and workers, spam missile guys and quads, 4 min, you win, remember to capture the oil, 1k for free for each one, also the ia always want them (:

imo GLA in this game was so overpowered. All the top 10 on leader boards besides 1 guy that played as china were all GLA. USA was such a shit faction, everything was expensive, everything had a hard counter, their tanks had no dmg bonus like radiation or chemical, air craft were easily countered and you could only have 4 at a time per air field, then you can totally shut down USA by hitting power stations. GLA required no power, radar was mobile, and destroyed buildings could be rebuilt for free.

Good video. Like how you sped it up, but I got some suggestions for you. Build more black markets and go for level 2 cash instead. Take the tunnel general power and make use of radar van scans. This will increase your mobility and allow you to spam vast numbers of tanks in their base very quickly. Seeing as you had £30k for a long time, it also wouldnt hurt to speed up how long it takes you to buy unit upgrades and SWs. Sorry if you feel like youre being corrected by some random nub, but I played online frequently (9000 wins, 900 losses) and have learnt how to finish comps/players most efficiently.

69Akin I play zero hour predominantly, so replied with that in mind, but I think you would struggle of that as they use more long range units. You'd probably need a small group of buggies to mop these up.

Lilouh Britannia the game is very old, I played it for 8-9 hours a day for years and played mainly 1v1 quick matches. The games I enjoyed most though were those I lost. I learnt stuff and improved more.

One thing i noticed (and i aint complaining) that u played a pretty straightforward game rather than the sneak n trick style of gla u used scorpion and quads 4 ur attack no hijackers or terrorists or buggies or technicals. Any special reason 4 playing head on?

How can you handle that much pressure? I pretty much would be defeated in less than a minute.

Plus alot of the time when played online either people where garbage or did try sneaky shit but I'd for the most part foil their plan.

I didn't even know the AI hit your most north building .... after all those years. Its funny how most those comments assume this should be played like any normal player vs player match. dang you made more money farming poor vehicles.

+SuperHydrow Aurora Bombers were introduced in Zero Hour, they do not exist in the vanilla version of Generals. I was playing at 60fps, I changed the speed of the video to x2 to make it a smaller file to upload to KZread. The SCUD launchers didn't leave anthrax clouds because I set them to high explosive damage instead.

Am I correct in seeing that the AI on the hardest difficulty isn't bothering with scud launchers/rocket vehicles? Since those are the ones that eventually get past any defences I can bolster since I don't have an adeqaute answer to those at the stage of their attack.

IN ZERO HOUR THE ATTACKS ARE LESS PREDICTABLE AND WAY MORE TACTICAL.....IN MY OPINION IN ZERO HOUR...HE WOULD HAVE BEEN SLAUGHTERED

Have you tried doing this on Zero Hour? I used to dominate on this map as USA vs. 7 hard/brutal teamed vs player; (can't remember in generals vanilla which is the hardest), but I got floored trying the same thing in ZH.

The problem in ZH is that the AI build long-ranged units like the Tomahawk, Scud Launcher, etc. making it harder to micro-manage your defence as they're out of your range, whereas in vanilla Generals they don't do that. On top of that, the USA army on hard difficulty spam missile defenders and abuse the Laser Guidance. They literally just destroy everything in a matter of seconds with that ability. I'll give it a go and see what I can come up with, but I've tried in the past and I've failed every time.

SireSquish Yeah I've seen that video before. The problem with ZH is that if you're facing too many USA enemies you get wrecked by the missile squad laser guidance. You can see from the video he only picked one USA enemy. Besides that the super weapon general is super strong because you can disable enemy vehicles non stop. If I have time I'll try doing ZH as GLA.

@عبدالله البزيعي Control on your keyboard and click. This is called force attack and will only stop when you manually designate a target or command it to stop.

What an awesome game this was, especially the multiplayer aspect of zero hour. I remember how lively the 3v3 and 2v2 lobbies were in 2004, so many clans and interesting people. It has its own history, its sad to know that it's all gone thanks to EA.

how do you get that menu in game, that shows which army is still playing and which army is defeated, gues there is a hotkey for that?

I think if you press tab it brings the menu up. Might have to check key settings in game if I'm wrong.
