Byron Allen Sues McDonald’s for Racial Discrimination in Advertising

Ойын-сауық

Marc Lamont Hill talks to media mogul Byron Allen who's suing Mcdonald's for $10 billion for racial discrimination in advertising sales. He alleges that the fast-food giant doesn't advertise with Black-owned media outlets as much as it does with white-owned media.
The founder, chairman & CEO of Allen Media Group, says that he is working toward economic inclusion for Black people.

Don’t applaud this man. He is not behind the scenes helping the struggle, he is another man who only cares about black people, when he is the black person being effected. Just like O.J. I’m not black Simpson and so many others in their time of need. Past that, they want nothing to do with being black all the way down to whom they marry and associate with on a daily basis. He is worth 400-450 million, I will give him this, his lawsuit hustle is very lucrative. I believe he has made more from lawsuits than in his career as a comedian, actor, producer combined. All I’m saying is if you’re going to root for someone, make sure they’ll do the same for you when the time comes.

When u say he wants nothing to do with being black down to the person he married and the company he keeps....That is one of the most ignorant statements I have ever heard. He's not "affiliated" with blacks because he married outside his race?🤔 or because he has friends and associates outside of his race?🤔 You could've made your point without such ignorance being displayed on your part. The company he keeps could be business partners, neighbors, in-laws, etc. I guess every black successful man is not for black ppl if he doesn't surround himself with black ppl and only f*ck black ppl huh? Don't knock his hustle due to racial lead postures....

Throughout our history here there have been countless black people working, building wealth, helping behind the scenes and financing tje movement. For example the late A.J. Gatson in Birmingham, Robert the late Robert Reed Church in Memphis and even Sammy Davis Jr. These people couldn't afford to be the face of the movements. So, they moved in unique ways. They may not have received great notoriety from the community (some black people called Sammy Davis a sell out) but they did their part nonetheless.

What you are saying is that he is a race hustler in the same line as Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson. Tell me what have they done for black people other than use our grievances to enrich their families on the basis of race alone. I give Byron credit, he’s slick as fuck, it’s cheaper to settle a bogus lawsuit than pay lawyers to fight it. Also the money comes out of insurance in most cases so it makes sense for the companies to settle. Thanks for not asking any specific or tuff questions as Byron name drops Like it has anything to do with the specifics of his lawsuit

Can't he go and get a rival of Mickey Ds to buy those same Ads and take Market Share away from Mickey Ds? Maybe Mickey Ds wants to use their Ads budget on Networks that show better programming than what he owns? I need to do more research and see what's up, but at first look it seems like he wants the Govt thru this Lawsuit to eliminate some of his business risk by forcing a Big Corp like Mickey Ds to do business with him Interesting case

So put aside the rhetoric, this should be straight forward. In 2019. McDonald’s spent $1.6 billion on television advertising in the U.S., with $5 million, or less than 1%, going toward Black-owned media, according to the lawsuit. Ok, so prior to 2018 what was McDonald’s advertising budget on the Weather Network package of channels given it was a "non-Black" business prior to 2018? So speak to the facts, did McDonald’s cut the spending once Byron Allen bought the business? This man' seems to be fairly successful despite all the barriers in his path. Really not sure how he can succeed in a racist world, maybe he would be better off if his spouse became the face of the company but I guess that would undermine his legal dispute.

No one really knows what Bryon does with is money, how many black employee’s he hires or how much money he puts back into the black community. Just because you don’t hear about him doing these things doesn’t mean he’s not. The fact that this guy married outside of his race, created a billion dollar empire and isn’t moving the way pro blacks want him to move is utter BS to cancel him. Even Killer Mike supports this guy. I haven’t seen one post yet mentioning how all his law suits are helping pave the way for future black media entrepreneurs.
