If you watch the Knox interview Ren intellectually and logically knows there wasn’t anything he could have done that night but emotionally is another thing… the empty cup. But notice there is a bottle of light (lights) to fill the empty cup. The previous produced video was dark and filled with pain and frustration. This starts with that pain but continues with what Joe and all his actions has taught and given Ren. That bottle of light to fill the empty cup. Not only a crafted masterpiece but preformed extremely well with the help from Sam.

There was a separate fundraiser for the RNLI (the volunteer group that looked for Joe) ... he asked for £15k and his fans donated £21k. He donated the proceeds of this song to Joe's parents. (£8k, I think?) He played this video for them before he released it. His Go-Fund Me is still paying for his medical treatments, which is why he's currently in Calgary, where he filmed this. Fyi. 😊

Joe was definitely with Ren on this one To give Ren the courage to do this amazing tribute ( This is what Ren posted ) On Monday I would make the difficult journey home because of music and the fund raising efforts of my incredible following. We managed to raise an incredible £21,000 for the RNLI, an incredible team of volunteers, who risk their lives without pay to aid calls of distress from British shores. The night Joe went missing they were out on the choppy stretch of water between Anglesey and the Mainland, until 5am, looking for Joe, without pay, from the goodness of their hearts. They continued the search efforts for the entire following week until hope dwindled. They owed us nothing, and gave us everything. Yesterday I decided to pay a visit to Joe's mum and dad. I was asked to play them the new live session I recorded in Calgary. It was probably the most nervous I've been playing someone a video that I'd made. The topic isn't an easy one, especially for parents who have lost an incredible son. I nervously hit play, and the gravity of what I was showing sunk in and I began to cry. In the end we sat in silence, silently sobbing. Joes mum turned to me and smiled and we hugged, and I felt much lighter. It made me really realise I guess what I've always known. Music is far more than music. It's a channel of communication for the things that are impossible to say. It's a bridge between the living and the dead. It's a way to stay immortal. It's a way to resurrect the dead. It's a universal language. It cuts down barriers of the parts of you which are encapsulated in steel cast iron. It allows frozen rivers to thaw and become un-stagnant. I owe myself, my life, everything I am to music. Music is the closest thing to god I know. I am so grateful to be doing what I do and to tap into this mystic force. My life, my energy, myself, I eternally devote to it.

The money raised was from the Album Freckled Angels, which was a tribute for Joe. It was filmed I think in Banff Canada I think. Ren is a multi instrumentalist,. Just pure talent. In one track Ren sings, that every track is he writes is cathartic and healing to him. 😘😘😘

Love the insight from your guests. Candace really knows her stuff and her comments were inspiring. I have had friends in the past who have taken their own lives, and it seems more common now than it was when I was growing up. It seems that the less we are allowed to talk about it, the more common it has become. I've lost friends in my teens, my twenties, and even lost 1 more recently at 51. It does take a toll on those of us left behind, and it is also a conversation I have had with my own children, if they lose a friend, I remind them they are loved. Life is hard enough when you lose someone to cancer, or an auto accident, or some other event you can't prevent... so that when you lose a friend to their own hand... you do feel a lot of guilt and it can create it's own self doubt.

The 21k+ he raised by holding a Fund Raiser for the volunteer rescue team in whales that searched long and hard for Joe. The album Freckled Angels 50% of its sales at same timeline of the other Fund Raiser, he donated to Joe's Family. The song Freckled Angels he actually wrote and performed it at Joe's Memorial. It is also the day Ren quit drinking. The skyline he is performing in front of is Calgary, Canada ... where he is getting hispital treatment, for the last 8mos and has months more ahead of him. Before releasing this For Joe song he went and played it for Joe's parents, belore releasing it to the public.

i doubt that ren is completely self-taught on guitar, no matter whether he‘s said so in an interview. regarding his skills on instruments, in all his playing there are classical figures which you can’t get merely from the likes of jimmy hendrix on youtube-videos. also the internet says ren’s studied music performance at Bath Spa University. so he‘s indeed educated in this direction what explains his diverse musical abilities a bit more. everything else i consider a myth. maybe he hasn‘t finished and the rest is self-taught or self-taught before university? at least he‘s possibly got the tool from university to develop himself. also i think his mother had something to do with music and his father too if i remember rightly. so there might indeed have been some classical training, but who knows. in any case he certainly has been influenced by classically trained close persons, so no one really knows what self-taught really means in ren‘s case. maybe he‘s self-taught to the state of today after he‘s got lessons from someone in the past. a matter of interpretation.

Bath Spa University only had a marginal impact on Ren. He only attended two classes before he got so sick he had to go and live with his mother. That makes him self-taught in my book. However, his parents were both deeply involved in music so I am sure they influenced him. His father bought Ren his first guitar when he was 10 and his mother was a singing coach. The Tale of Ren has yet to be written so everything we say is contingent upon confirmation by Ren.
