BYD Seal Infotainment Quick Look and Sideloading APK
Hey everyone. Another quick video about the infotainment. Thanks to Candice for letting me know about the APK sideloading working in the Seal. I managed to test a few apps it does have issue with the Google Service apps. But Waze, Plex, Chrome all work fine. KFC and McDonalds apps seem to work too and some games which is pretty neat. Bluetooth all works with the PS5 controller too, which is nice. Hopefully this video doesn’t make anyone seasick!
Just put the APK's on a USB in a folder called third party apps folder, put the USB in where the Carplay USB-A hole is. The car will automatically prompt to install with the password: GHY0613byd.
I noticed if you try to go into the File Manager and install it from the USB it gives you a warning. I think this is the same as the Atto, so I presume it will get patched, but cool nevertheless.

Hi there. Thanks for the video. Great info! I noticed that you've have the Waze app installed and was wondering is there an advantage using the Waze apk rather than say using Waze through either Android Auto / Apple car play? To me i don't see any point in using Android Auto / Apple car play if you can just install the APK file. Cheers 👍
Great vid, thanks for making it. Good find with the Xbox controller too! Would be keen to see reverse parking and front parking and how accurate the sensors are. Not sure if you saw Tesla Toms recent video on the model 3 2024 findings but something similar to that would be great.
Hey mate thanks for the video, it’s helpful. Can you try and make a video on the charging times, how to find charging in AUS, and what is the average range for the car. Also finally is this a premium or performance model?

Hey, this one is the premium. I just have the 10A charger at home, granny charging overnight adds about 100km. Have tested a few of the charges and seen the Eevie? and the Tesla V2 both do 80Kw/h. Hasn't been overly difficult locally in regional QLD, but haven't really found it necessary, doing a run to Northern NSW for Christmas which might be interesting, Tenterfield/Inverell/Glen Innes.
Can you try installing VLC media player or MX video player and see if you can play video files via usb pendrive?
Sideload option gone after update, and no store so far in Germany :(

I just had a couple of places come up googling. Nothing specific, am probably not the best resource where to find them. Just make sure the extension is APK as well. It doesn't like the package files APKM.

I'll have a look, has been in sport coming up on nearly 2000km. I think its hovering at around 15-16kw/h / 100KM
Does directions work with thr hud when using andrpid auto/carplay?

Hey mate. Not sure about android. Doesn’t seem to for the built in navigation or the CarPlay. It does show the caller ID/phone number.
