    This is not LKA (Lane Keeping Assist) = ping pong. This is LFA (Lane Follow Assist) or lane centering system. Thank you for this video 👍

    Thank you for the video. In Morocco we have version 1.0 of infotainement system lane keeping assist disconnects when the road is too curved.

    Thanks for the comment. So based on this video, is the behavior of the LKA worse in Morocco or does it handle these kind of slight curves like on the video?

  • @Panardo777

    It seems it handles the same. Really handful in the highway under 130 kmh, but really annoying in tighter roads with a lot of curves. The HUD is a must to have to use this ADAS as we can monitor easily exactly when it disconnects, much more dangerous to use in versions without HUD.

    @@Panardo777 Let’s hope that BYD improves those things through software updates. I think that could well be one of their focus areas.

    Thanks for the video. For the frequent warning beeps and then disengagement of AP, does the car slow down? I looked at your speed (so I wonder if you put your foot on the accelerator when it disengaged?). Have you tried this in traffic jams? In Hong Kong, I tried to use AP (in my Tesla) during traffic jams, but the system leaves too much gap so other drivers will easily cut in. It will be interesting to hear what your experience with BYD AP is like in this situation.

    @@tooflesstesla it does slow down when the adaptive cruise control disables as the regenerative braking sets in. So you will surely notice it by then. But if only the lane assist disengages, there is no slow down. I have used the adaptive cruise control in traffic jams and find the distance ok. The car continues automatically when the var front of you starts moving - unless there is a longer stop, in which case you need to press the accelerator pedal to continue. Then the lane assist is not much of a use in urban areas, that is mostly for highway only.

    is there a speed limit? like slowest to enable and fastest speed while using it? if u press throttle .. will it disabled ?

    Today I activated it at 120 km/h and no issues. Not sure of minimum (I think it might be 30), need to check that one. If you use the accelerator, it will stay on and the speed will pick up, but will return to the previously set speed after you have released the accelerator. It's pretty handy how it works there.

    i dont like when it disabled itself if we didnt touch it for a long time.. what if im asleep😢 there should be some safety assist if we slept (like slowly parked on left lane, with hazard lights)

  • @ElectricSeal-bq5wu

    @ElectricSeal-bq5wu

    The autopilot requires you to steer manually at least slightly every now and then, as you can see in the video, so using fully autopilot for an extended period of time is not possible. Also the autopilot is not that advanced that it could do turns at intersections or in city areas. It is really meant to be used on highways and larger roads like ring roads with only gentle curves.

    Is there button also for only using adaptive cc, without active steering (autopilot)? Does Seal have basic cc or is it always adaptive for ex. in winter if sensors are blocked, can you use basic cc?

    Yes there is a button for just the cruise control without activating the lane keeping assist. It's also there on the left side of the steering wheel. As for the manual cruise control, I at least haven't found one yet..

    @@ElectricSeal-bq5wu LKA is a driver assistance feature that is supposed to nudge you back into the centre of the lane. ICC is what you were using in this video, it is what BYD call autopilot. The button to the left of the rocker wheel will engage ICC and the button to the right of the rocker wheel engages just ACC.

    Autonomous driving of BYD is in its infancy just like the automobile giant GEELY as they belong to the 3 tier of the Chinese standards. Xiaopeng and Tesla belong to the second tier. Huawei is leading way ahead and belongs to the first tier. The Avatr 12 and IM LS7 are using Huawei's autonomous driving system.
