ByAnnie Ultimate Travel Bag 2.0 | Tips for a beginning quilter from a beginning quilter
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
By Annie Ultimate Travelers Bag is probably one of the most popular patterns that she makes so of course I was dying to try it. I was very intimidated by this bag but I figured it out and so can you. A beginning sewer CAN absolutely make this bag. Just take my tips and watch my video so you can see where I struggled and you will be on your way.

Thank you so much. This is the project I am most proud of. A beginner really can do this.
Patterns byAnnie are very difficult to follow and most all of them takes an advanced sewer. They ARE NOT good with sharing any extended information, answering questions when you get stuck or even replying to an email. I am so glad to hear that your frustration with these patterns are the very same ones I had. You did fantastic job on this bag! Just one more note….Most advanced sewers would like to know the size of coil on the zippers that are used for the project. Once again thank you for your insight❣️❣️

@@MACoutureCrafting I have come to the conclusion that unfortunately byAnnie KZread videos are 35-45 min advertisements. They claim in their heading they are a tutorial however there’s absolutely NO tutoring during these vids. I will no longer support that channel. Thank you for allowing me to rant….I feel better🤣😂😜
I opened an Annie bag pattern today. I was so thoroughly confused (I am an experienced bag/zipper person), I immediately headed to youtube and found You! Loved your commentary, your humour. You spoke to me. Thank you.

I am a very experienced sew-er and this bag is intimidating so you're not alone It took me forever to cut the pieces out and thankfully, there are labels I could attach, and I'm doing one piece a day, not rushing. Annie has new videos out and believe me I have watched a few. Good luck on all your future endeavors and

You are cracking me up in this video! I love the going rogue! I feel that a little more than I should! Haha Thanks for taking the time to put this out! I started sewing a little over two years ago, but brand new to quilting. My first patter by Annie is going to be the “A place for everything 2.0”. So I am trying to watch some videos to help me understand how the patterns work.

So true! By Annie patterns take a little mental gymnastics to understand and execute. Once you make one then you get Annie's process, but that first one is a workout. I just did A Place for Everything as my first By Annie bag and I seriously need time to recover before doing another bag, but every time I see it, I am like damn I made that.

What a great review of a 'by Annie' pattern. I am quite honestly addicted to her patterns, it's crazy! I was not really interested in this pattern UNTIL I watched your video. Now I have to add this one to my list. I've made the 4 free patterns she suggests to make first. And I have quite a few patterns I've been acquiring. Her Add-On videos are what inspire me as well. Thank you for your honest review! I scan the pattern instructions and then print them off black/white and color in my fabric choices.

Thank you so much for this video. I’m a beginner quilter with years of sewing experience but have never made a bag. When I saw this bag I just knew I wanted to make several of them as gifts however the pattern turned me off making them. (Yep, I’m a visual learner). I have searched You Tube and googled the internet to find anything that would assist in making them. I had never heard of Craftsy so I joined and watched the video and now it all makes sense and it’s so easy. Thank you again and absolutely love your Tula Pink bag.

This comment just made my day. I'm glad that I'm adding value to this community
I made 2 large Dirty Bags - which are still small - and made a mess of the inside binding because the seams were bulky. I watched a byAnnie video and she said that if the seams are really bulky on the inside, then just fold the seams over and fold the binding over the seams and then just topstitch the binding. It makes the seam lie flatter and would look way better than the way that did it. If you use a matching thread then nobody will see that extra line of stitching. 😊

Such a great suggestion to have a whole bag illustration to be able to color it in the planning. And I love that as a beginner you rocked it out after doing the free patterns to practice the techniques and Annie’s videos on zippers. Omg - love the idea of 2 different color zipper teeth! (Lol on the marking the top on directional prints. I have done that. The instructions are surely there for a reason and I too kick myself for not following directions of the expert pattern maker). Brilliant tips.

I found your channel last week. I was looking to find other videos of the Easy Does It bag and found you. Well you gave me the courage to go ahead and start my Easy Does It. I did it. I did not use the Soft and Stable but next time I am because the “off brand” was so so so stiff I thought I was gonna die and I am also going to break down and buy those things for the straight pins cause they are such daggers. I was bleeding all over. Good thing I keep bandaids close by. I want to make a few more Easy Does It bags, make the backpack and then the Ultimate 2.0. You really gave me the courage to just DO IT. Thanks bunches. I too am a card maker and I want to quilt but am struggling with that.
