THanks for the honest and up front review. I think FAR too often, Bulgari's MAN series gets cut down. MIB is great on me. Get 8-10hrs from it. And i've been looking at this one for a whole.This and Wood Essence. Keep up the great Canadian job. We need more Canadian Fragheads. Both you and Chad??? [A Gentleman's Journey] are doing great

This is my favorite from this collection. My second favorite is Man in Black. I get good, but not great longevity and projection from both of them. For what they sell for, I think they are both excellent buys.

Niceeee! I have MIB, Black Orient and Black Essence… for me the last two are very similar, Black Essence got the same DNA that Black Orient but just a little bit lighter. I would definitely loved to get MIB INTENSE… though I’ve never seen one.

I think I agree with you when I say this is an excellent fragrance if you don't already own Man In Black, as its an improvement but not different enough from its predecessor. I like a flanker to have a reason to own it, as well as the original.

Haven't got my shnozzz on this orient one but I do really like the original man in black and like it way way more than spice bomb it just feels like a more grown up polished fragrance.

I just bought Man in Black Limited Edition Essence. They're both similar, if you don't own the others, get Essence, if you already own the others, don't waste space on your mantle.

From other reviews this 1 lasts longer but...let us know what it does on you,,,,i don't know which 1 to buy

Believe me guys this is the best parfum in the term of durability

Every single perfume review in the world is full of comments saying: "I sprayed it and smelled great for one hour, then poof - it's gone" which is horse crap, if you spray any frag and sniff it obsessively you'll develop olfactory fatigue and your nose turns off - it doesn't mean anything about the juice other than you have no idea about the biological function of your nose. Any comment you ever read about a fragrance complaining about longevity can be taken with a whole box of salt.

I dont mind it but it has a smokiness to it which can be a little off putting to some.

Ok so my take on this (I purchased it quite some time ago now as I was really excited). I'll start by saying _"No"_ it's not as good as Man in Black. How it smells....think of Man in Black just a bit darker and more rugged. A bit more rough around the edges. Despite the fact that this is really nice juice, I was still disappointed. The reason for this is because when you first spray it, it smells strong, giving off the impression that it's a great performer. This is an illusion. It's not actually that great. Usually this wouldn't be a problem because, just like with MIB, you can overspray and somewhat fix that issue. But you just can't do that with Orient because it ruins the smell. So you wanna go about 3 or 4 sprays. Here's where it gets even more heart breaking. For the first half hour to an hour, you smell fucking fantastic. The Mrs always comments on how good I smell. But then after that first hour, the drydown becomes more about one prominent note (the Oud I think), while all the other notes smell like they're decaying around it. That being said, it's basically just Man in Black just more pungent with a more hairy chest. The reason I was disappointed is because I was really excited about it with high expectations. It smells good and it smells strong and powerful. But please don't be fooled into thinking that means it's a performer. You will love the scent but not for long. Once you've reached the drydown, the magic has gone.

Wow you got in general the points I observed when I wear this. However I dont mind the negatives as I really like this. I own 2 bottles of this now :)

You should google Olfactory fatigue, then remove your comment lol - this is a beast, just because your nose turned off doesn't mean everyone else can't smell you.

Man in Black Essence is the best of the line, IMHO =) did you already try it?

Its not first impression when you already wore it. Initially your first impressions were very interesting coz it were solely based on very first take now its not interesting at all.

Do you like this one better than the original Bulgari Man in Black?

The black series smells of higher and niche quality, but it's not for me

I blind bought this close to a year ago and the main thing I noticed was the extremely amped up leather note and the insane performance. I absolutely get the original DNA in this but I found it so much darker and stronger. I just wish I liked leather more.

I was impressed the first time I tried it but for some reason I never wear it. It smells too designerish and it's trying too hard to impress. I think it would better suit younger crowd. I find it doesn't have enough class. But it's a quality fragrance overall.

I wish I had seen this review before blind buying this. This is just flat out overpowering black pepper all the way, hardly any rum or booziness,, can't find any tuberose or leather, just a bit of rose. The pepper overpowers everything in this scent, such a disappointment!
