Buying "Tournament Ready" Yu-Gi-Oh Decks on Ebay...

Ойындар

We bought two cheap, so-called "Tournament Ready" Yu-Gi-Oh decks from eBay, one for Dark Magician and one for Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Are these decks really competitive or just a scam?

    Theses decks are the best to have lying around though. Lots of back and forth potential. If you're buying a tournament ready deck to win at a tournament, you still have to be looking to spend a tournament winning price. Those also exist. However, for pulling out a couple decks when you're fucked up with your buddies... This is way more fun than a thousand dollar game of rock paper scissors.

    I’m glad that you guys covered this. I’ve seen these decks and they make me mad that they advertise them as competitive when they are very casual (especially the dark magician deck). I’m pretty sure these were Legendary decks that they are just reselling. The ones that really grind my gears are the decks that are advertised as competitive and/or say that they are a full deck and are priced at $50 and up but don’t have the core cards that make deck, There are some decent ones (still not worth it). But most of the ones I’ve seen, like a $110 Dragonmaid deck have no Nurses or Kitchens and the actual value is like half that price. In other cases sometimes not even.

  • @Goblin_Hands

    @Goblin_Hands

    Yeah, it's a scam and should be illegal. I feel really bad for new players suckered into them, but you have to also remember, they learn from the best. Not only does Konami scam everyone with literal cardboard, they don't even release the good ones easily, even years later, or give older decks enough support, but instead just make cards that break the game. For example, Pot of Extravagance, Evenly Matched, Infinite Impermanence are still $25+ despite reprints, which hardly matter since they are intentinally short prints. Or how about instead of giving older decks like Volcanics support, or Blue-Eyes a Link monster or Fusion Spell, they break the game with Numerons or Apoloussa. Is it fair that Magician's Souls is outrageously overpriced for players wanting to play Dark Magicians? Well it's Konami's fault for making the card so generic and so busted so late in the game when cards need restrictions with such a large card pool. And Konami isn't even good at making cards, it's just that the series was such a big hit and players got too invested to quit (proof: do kids like the latest Yugioh shows, or do they prefer Fortnight?) For example, look how untrue and trashy the God cards, Toons, or even Gate Guardian are compared to how they are supposed to work (the anime/manga). I bet the real reason they discontinued Ghost Rares was because each card costed them 5 cents more or something. They are also shamelessly biased and treat the TCG like garbage compared to the OCG Asian format, from forcing the TCG to wait 6+ months or even years for cards to come out, to having better rarities and short-printing literally every competitive card in their OCG when it does come out for us. Konami is just a bad company in general. From all of this to firing David Hayter for MGS5, discontinuing Silent Hills (firing Hideo Kojima), I remember I really liked them when they made those TMNT games in the 1990's but I bet they did something shady to lose the rights. Wasn't it Konami that decided to try and get greedy and copyright "Magic Card", only to have them lose and change them all to "Spell". Lol, Maybe it was the green paper that corrupted them, and karma finally bit them. But they FINALLY let players create 1 card. 1. And I think it just got put on hold too.

    Incorrect, this would not even be competitive back in 2002 before Metal Raiders. Man-Eater Bug, Fissure/Trap Hole, Wall of Illusion, Summoned Skull and the cards the power spells the first rulebook recommended to all players would basically eat both decks alive (SDY featured 3/5 of them already.) Sure it has things like Alexandrite being 2000 compared to 1800 La Jinn, or Magical Dimension, but other than that it also has very little monster removal and far less consistency, even though nothing was searchable until MRD Sangan/Witch of the Black Forest.
