I bought 7 pair of various AceMark shoes based on your (and other youtuber style guys) rec. in other videos Holy moly what a shoe. I almost felt like I underpaid when I pulled these exquisite pieces of foot furniture out of the box. The quality is just mind blowing. I haven't received my set yet but can't wait...I originally bought the wrong size and had to return them (guys, truly take the time to print out the size guide measure yourself and order the right size their last is very gracile and caters to people with high instep so if you are flat footed you may find that your regular size in another brand is way too tight for AM, like I did). That said , the few minutes I spent with the first batch was all the proof I needed that this was an exceptional shoe maker. I have another 6 pair of dress shoes in the queue as a Christmas Gift to ME plus 2 of their luxury dress sneakers in preparation for the Spring. I bought an entire wardrobe of the standard styles that I love. (Bluchers, Cap Toe Ox's, Whole Cuts, Monk Straps, Chucka's) I see them as an investment and buying a set means I can cycle/rotate them (just as you suggested) ...which means it takes a lot longer for any one of them to wear....I plan on having these for the next 50 years or longer. I also got a bunch of shoe trees from Houndsbay rather than the Acemarks ones since they are so expensive.

Here's a tip. 1. Find your size for Allen Edmonds shoes. 2. Go to shoebank for their factory seconds. 3. Buy a wingtip, an Oxford, and the most absurd looking shoe such as the Dalton or Broadstreet spectators, because man needs a high quality clash shoe.

0:26 Mistake One: Equting value with price (pricey shoes that you love to wear provide more value than cheap shoes). 1:49 Mistake Two: Spending too much money (get well-priced entry- and mid-tier shoes). 3:55 Mistake Three: Starting off with an eccentric style (instead start with classic styles). 4:25 Mistake Four: Unable to spot quality (buy goodyear or blake stitched shoes; avoid cemented shoes). 5:43 Mistake Five: Only buying one pair (instead rotate multiple pairs of shoes). 6:05 Mistake Six: Not using a shoe tree (instead get unvarnished cedar shoe trees). 6:20 Mistake Seven: Not using shoe polish or conditioner. 6:57 Mistake Eight: Not storing them properly (keep moise shoes away from heat; clean and shine worn shoes and store in shoe bags). 7:44 Mistake Nine: Not paying attention to details (instead, look for shoes with sole tacks, clean broguing, leather lining, even stitch). 8:47 Mistake Ten: No matching belt (instead, pick up a matching belt and a matching polish when buying a high-quality pair of shoes). 9:19 Mistake Eleven: Do not buy from companies with no customer service.

Here is an idea for a new video: techniques to match your phone with your wardrobe. Phones are now an essential part of everyday carry, and I think it might be worthwhile to match to start matching their colors and all with your wardrobe. I personally have a blue phone, with a black case for everyday carry. For more formal occasions, I remove the case and the blue of the phone matches with my blue suit or a tie I am wearing. Small things like this may make an impact (or I may be reading too much into things haha). This may require a bit of research as it seems like an area of fashion that hasnt been broken into yet. Btw, you may also be able to get a sponsor from dbrand, a smartphone skin manufacture.

I wear a size 15 wide normally. And the rockports I have are fine, but not amazing. What kind of dress shoe style would compliment my feet instead of accentuating it weirdly? Plain toe, round for, square toe, Oxford, etc.

William Nett Antonio will know more than me but some Italian Blake stitched shoes can have little or no rim round the edge compared to a Goodyear Welted shoe. This makes the shoe less big and bulky and I think would complement your foot size. Any dress shoe shape (rounded rather than square) should work

I can also recommend to insert changeable insoles as one more layer, and change them periodically. When they wear out or become smelly - you just switch for new ones. It's easier and cheaper to remove them, than having a disappointment of your favorite shoes becoming unwearable.

Sometimes if you are at the right place at the right time you can find some real bargains. I recently was at an estate sale where I picked up a pristine pair of Allen Edmonds with the cedar shoe trees for $10.00. Also I think it is also just as important to keep the insides of your shoes in good condition as well. I always get a cheap pair of air pillow insoles to keep the inside footbed of my shoes looking good. I just replace as necessary.

What keeps me coming back is that they have multiple widths for EVERY shoe! Few others do that. Plus they have local retail stores. Sure, I'd like to try Alden or Crockett and Jones, but I don't have $2k to spend on a trip to London to get my $700 shoes fitted.

That fake patina thing isn't my cup of tea, makes it look cheap, cuz they're trying to replicate something that comes with age and usage, I'd rather let it develop its own character by itself than get a fake patina( no matter how much effort they put into it, it'll never be the same as the effort you put in for wearing it in)

Sometimes people just can't wait for it to develop the patina. Or they own so many shoes it would NEVER patina in their life. I worked at a luxury retail for a while, and there are a couple of clients who have nearly 90% of the entire brands shoes (that all start from $2000). They aren't going to see any patina before they die. The skill required to put the right colours isn't that easy either. Sure an amateur could get decent results, but it won't be constistent. Especially when it's all customized to individual requests at my place, the colorist has to churn out all these in a uniform manner, reasonable time, it takes real skill.

So instead of spending $600 for a pair of Ace Mark shoes, he says buy two identical pairs so you have $1200 tied up in one fashion look. I think I will stick to Allen Edmonds for $300-400.

I am a big fan of your's and have learnt a lot from you about style. You are literally an inspiration for me........ But sir, i just wanted to ask, the wax that you said to apply on the shoe rather than a polish (cream), but the wax is applied only in the hard surfaces of the shoe (like the toe cap area)..... Otherwise if the wax is in the middle portion of the shoe, then it creates creases while walking...... So just to ask you, does applying wax to the whole shoe have any bad effects on the shoe?
