Good job Matt I have been repairing these booms and other makes for 38 years now and the one piece of advice I would like to pass on to you is … get yourself a safety harness. People have been killed using boom lifts. Especially when driving them and the wheels run over a hump or drop into a hole, it will catapult you out of the basket. Plenty of videos on here showing what can happen

Put your machine on a known level surface and check the bubble, if the bubble is not in the center ring and your sure your surface is level adjust the four nuts on top of the springs until the bubble is in the middle, now your sensor is adjusted properly.

That is cool Matt! Great Job. I spent hundreds of hours in a lift exactly like that one when I was a painter. I wrapped the beepers in duct tape so they didn't kill my eardrums. I could still hear them but it didn't feel like someone was inserting a needle into my brain.

Kewl Vidio.....I'm not as familiar with Geni as I am with JLG products; however, I have a lot of time with Deutz....especially the blf series 1011/2011. One person below suggested timing belt replacement. Very wise to keep up with that task. Motor non-integral. You can get a pin set off Flee Bay cheap or make it yourself with a small lathe. The belt changes easily. The motor is highly rebuildable unless you damage the crank. Crank has a lot of work in it. These OIL-cooled motors are tough! They strap these to generators and throw them down mine shafts. Oil cooler on top of motor expensive. I think the last one I got was almost 1200. The belt looked too wide. Might squeal early on ya. Be careful and thanks for the video. If you need help let me know. (Not a solicitation/Retired) Jeff S.

When you were fussing with that battery at the beginning....been there many times. I've found that if you bite the bullet, slow down and spend some time, it pays off. 1st, spray the terminal connector bolts with penetrating oil before starting. Then when off, clean them up with a wire wheel and grease the threads. 2nd, when they won't tighten down on the new battery, pull the bolts, spread the "arms" of the terminal and use a file to cut metal away from the facing surfaces. Then when you tighten them, they'll bite solidly without having to try shims. The wire "shims" won't last long and they provide a place for corrosion to start.

I’ve operated these for years you have to drive the lift in the foreward position with the front arrow pointing foreward the leveling system won’t work unless the boom is in the back of the machine that’s why it keeps beeping at you, so drive with the boom in the back and the arrows on the front pointing foreward

An old trick that always use for battery terminals is,...Completely remove the bolts on both clamps, then spread them slightly. Then you are safe to tap them on with a mallet. Then reinstall the bolts and snug them up. Nice machine.

Frequently, machines in the inop row are the best deal, especially when the auction house has acres of stuff to sell, and they move on quickly. On the limit switch you replaced, did you not notice the mounting bracket was removable? Two bolts into tapped holes. If the wire is still in good shape, you should be home free! That particular limit switch appears to inhibit high speed travel. The "deedle-deedle beep is a danger warning, triggered in you're in a dangerous position...as a certain amount off level, or extended too far when working off the side. Yes, it is annoying, but so is turning the thing over! It is an important safety device...DON'T mess with it!

Matt, do you want to know the reason why those designers do that? They are told by the bean counters (the accountants) of those companies to cause a simple fix to become complicated. Why would that want to do that so the person who owns the machine to bring it to the dealership to have it fix. Why would they do that? So that the company will be given the money to have it fixed. This will allow both the companies to stay in business. This was happening for possibly more than a hundred years. Ford doesn't want it to be that way any more. Why not? Dealership fee's and them setting their own priced for a vehicle. As for the place where that equipment came from, it was possibly originally sold well past the MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) of that lift.

Matt, those cylinders have closely placed fins around them, and they're opposite each other. This is known as a horizontally opposite piston engine. After the air filter, there's ducting, which surrounds those two cylinders. Oh, I nearly forgot. The crankshaft pulley has a belt that spins a blower, which delivers air in through shrouding, which additionally travels between those fins, cooling them. How do I know this? I was studying automobiles since 1982, which was my second year of high school.

It's the same as before. They want you to visit the dealership to have it serviced by their technicians. Do you want to know why it was beeping incessantly? You shouldn't move it while that box is up I the air. It does that so you stay safe. Yes, it annoying, except it's mandatory. This is due to the fact that the government wants to maintain control of those companies. All you need to do is to put it in different positions and remember when thst beeping happens. Not all those positions will solicit those beeps.

(Inexperience), never roll rubber seals over threads, rather us blunt object to stretch them into place. I’m not trying to not pick, but rather give you 73 years of experience in heaven equipment operation and servicing.
