Great topic & info. Also...know what a fair price is for the car you want, (trim lines/features too), reliability of the car, insurance costs of the car. Inspection if used. Also important...if you have a car and want/need a different car, check with existing insurance co. policy - mine said that I would be dropped if I sold my car and then bought a car. In a quickly dropping market I had to get funds together for the replacement car first, buy it, then sell the first car (I did not sell at same place I bought from).

Great information! I would recommend you try to have the cash to cover taxes, fees and licensing. That way you're not paying interest on these items through a monthly car payment. Your only paying interest on the car itself. Although, in many cases you need about $5,000 to cover these items. Watch out for becoming to car or RV poor. You may be willing to take a high payment when your emotion is out of control but later as the month wear on with the high payment you may regret it.
