I had my PSP ordered a month ago. Secondhand on a local site. No scratches and came with a hardshell case. €80. I had it softmodded with a CFW an hour after it arrived. Seriously, PSP modding in 2024 is really easy.

Agreed. PSPs are the Sliced Bread of Modding. Easy as Heck and they go with EVERYTHING (as in the PSP can run just about every Essential console a Modder would wanna try Emulating. SNES/Genesis/NES/WonderSwan/GameBoy/Arcade Games/etc.). I was about to comment the same thing. All that'd be needed is to run CFW and boom. Works like a charm.

Ya I can mod my PSP in about 5 min but it takes 30 to an hour for me to mod my vita cuz of this one error on the web browser

They've gone up like crazy, I bought mine, a boxed 1000 for less than 50 € a couple of years ago. I sold it because I've got a Vita, and there's no point in keeping a PSP once you have a Vita Except for the "optical drive experience", that's the only regret I have. I wish I watched more movies with it.

You can find the firmware online and use a mini USB cable to connect, then just install it without modding

The problem with the original shells are the paint is very easy to come off especially the metal ones like the green and silver

if you're not a collector then i recommend getting a ps vita it takes about 5-10 minutes to mod and you can play any vita/ps1/psp game ever released minus the physical only psp games like crisis core well it is possible it's just more of a hassle

You can update it manually without issue, and play games on it. Or mod it, if that's what you prefer, but no need for that. It's super easy to fix this, and absolutely nothing to complain about.

If you use certain websites, you can download a firmware update for it on there. That said, with prices the way they are right now, it makes more sense to buy and mod a PS Vita, then you get PS1/2 and PSP also.

I got that same message when i bought one online. Freaked me out and sued the seller for selling fake shit. 😂😂 Did not know what it was but i manage to repair it. That message is like what this guy said. It is like the system is not updated long time and the “newer” games and update cant be loaded. I ended up bringing the firmware back a few updates and then loaded the right CF (custom firmware) worked like a charm. Now the system is working like it should. 😊😊😊

How is it himpossible? I got 2 PSP's now, never had one when I was a kid, bought a 3000 for 4$ without a battery and an 1000 with battery, camera & 7 games for 15$, both from flea markets.

I have updated both of my PSP Consoles. And also you can still play every game around. My two PSP consoles are slightly different one is a Japanese import that has the system updated for English and the second one has the bigger battery and the larger memory card. Did you know that there is some online software that allows you to play some of the retro games and watch the videos that you can watch.

I recently bought a psp for 60 bucks and it’s the first one so I need to replace the screen so I can stop getting headaches from the ghosting, the right side speaker is non functional, and the left trigger is pretty mushy. All fixable but I found out a previous owner had loaded every snes games ever onto the thing. Absolutely wild. Also whatever version of doom they had ran suuuuuper badly 17fps max after messing with settings

Dude just mod it. You probably could have modded it in the time it took to record and edit this video. Not really much to learn. Just follow a guide and you literally can't go wrong and will have a working psp in 10 minutes.

I now have a 10th PSP and every one works great as I just updated all on the internet. The SEGA collection is actually pretty cool and better than the Mega Drive. You should try doing what I did and have patience. I also have the PSVITA also and play all the games that I want to.

I tried updating mine and it just doesnt work. I even put the update file on my PSPs memory stick and when I go to update it I get "Error (DADADADADA)" Im pretty sure its because the PSP cant connect to the internet anymore. I havent figured out a solution yet.

There are lots of safe places to download the PSP firmware updates. It doesn’t even need to be online to use those firmware updaters just be put on system from usb and then run it….

I recently got a pearl white and spirit green one, I modded both.

I'd recommend going for a ps vita. Modding it is stupidly easy, and there is a program that will make your Vita a psp. You can also play retro stuff all the way to the dreamcast and play vita games

Not the case. You can update PSP trough wifi on console. You just have to have battery. Its simple. And of corse via cable from PC and android phone.

you could get a ps vita and mod it, theres PSP hardware inside of the PSVita that allows you to literally turn your PS Vita into a PSP with a simple software mod that requires you to have a computer and a few mins of your time.

It's not that hard to mod on psp it's actually satisfying how easy it is to mod stuff on psp. If you mod it you should be able to update it to latest firmware without internet.

I still have PSP and it works very good still!!! But you can buy the battery and charger separately and add them to your order when buying a PSP!!!

Man from my experience I swear those consoles from that gen are getting overpriced lately I mean here today you cannot find a PSP even under 60$ and all come with no battery or other dumb errors like some buttons not working, once I read a reddit post that said we shouldn't pay more than 50$ for a PSP and it's true

Impossible? It’s really easy to find one for like $50 on ebay or other marketplace platforms. Those ‘fakes’ you point out are all real. Some may have new parts, but nobody makes reproduction PSP motherboards. Heck, I bought three Japanese units a couple months ago for 50 each in immaculate condition. You also don’t need to mod the thing to update it. A suitable network connection is all you need. Or you could do it with a memory stick and the 6.61 update file. Once that’s done it literally takes 5 minutes to mod one and then you’ll have the entire library at your fingertips.

Why don’t you just return the broken consoles? EBay guarantee your money back if you get something not as described…

NONE of this is true. It is REALLY EASY to find a sub-$100 PSP on eBay that works fine. And no, this isn't a bad error just update the PSP bro. This guy is REALLY lazy if he can't take 3 more minutes to look at more recent listings for a cheaper unit. My boyfriend got one for $57 for a 1000 and I got a 3000 for $65. In 2024. This is plain impatience on his part. He's also INCREDIBLY lazy if he feels too lazy to put 3 files on his PSP by plugging it into his PC like a flash drive. Real hard working content. You just know he would go above and beyond for his audience if he ever got to a respectable sub count.
