    Thanks. Very useful information. As a US citizen, I'm envious that Canadians can import 15 year old vehicles. Our protectionist laws are more severe so we're stuck importing 25+ year old antique vehicles.

    Hi there, looking at a Mitsubishi Mini Cab. Have heard the Suzuki Carry is least problematic of the bunch but does that make this Mitsubishi an automatic red flag? Also it has 160,000 K and is automatic. Are either of those characteristics ringing any warning bells because the truck will be doing its fair share of heavy hauling, seller is not giving any particular year. Thanks very helpful videos, much appreciated. 👍🙂

    Out of curiosity, since you've done this before in Canada, how was the insurance process? I've heard horror stories about RHD vehicles and huge costs, etc. Just curious what you've run into. I take it you're out west? I really want to get one of these as a little city cruiser, and possibly to lift and have a little bit of fun with. I don't need numbers, just curious if it was around what a regular car would run you or more.

  • @4sonsoffroad

    @4sonsoffroad

    5 жыл бұрын

    We are in Alberta. We have found that it really depends on the insurance company. Some are not willing to insure RHDs others are just unreasonable and yet others are no big deal. Most will not be willing to put collision coverage on unless you get a special appraisal done and insure it as a specialty vehicle. Bottom line is call around or better yet just call an insurance broker and make them do the work for you.

    @@4sonsoffroad Collision doesn't make sense here in Canada anyway. Just don't drive like an idiot and the other guy will be paying. I'd just be worried about thefts, etc, just due to it being a less common vehicle. Thanks, I'll call my company out of curiosity on monday.

  • @4sonsoffroad

    @4sonsoffroad

    7 жыл бұрын

    Éric Bourgoin I'm not 100% sure on Ontario laws. I know it is a bit more difficult simply because they are right hand drive. Easiest thing to do is give your insurance company a call and ask for a quote. I have no idea about your emissions rules either. The trucks are in excellent condition and would have all original emissions equipment in place. Our trucks have no issues passing mechanical inspections either. Sorry I'm not more knowledgeable on licensing as that changes with every province.

    Good info. Again each province is different so good to always make that call to the insurance company first for sure. Also with LHD trucks they will be more expensive if they are converted Japanese trucks for sure. It is possible they could have come from other Asian markets too. The dealer will be able to give you that info for sure.
