I wish you could read the content of the letter penned by His Holiness. Last year I saw a letter written by one of the officials to higher up in Lhasa about a request made by a British trade agent seeking permit to travel to Lhasa to talk about difficulties faced by British Trading Agent. The style of the letter and language is pretty much the same one currently used in Dharamsala.
