Welcome to another exciting episode with Bags Packed Family! 🎒 In this installment, join us on our incredible journey as we embark on a 350-mile drive from Fairbanks to the stunning Mat Su Valley in Alaska to lay eyes on our new home for the very first time. 🚗🏠
But before we get to the grand reveal of our Alaskan dream home, we had to make a pit stop at a local grocery store to stock up on essentials for the house. Trust us, you won't want to miss our grocery haul adventure in the Last Frontier! 🛒🍽️
Once we finally arrived at our new house, we couldn't wait to give you a tour. We'll walk you through every nook and cranny, showcasing our simple living Alaska style, and provide a glimpse into what life in Alaska is really like. 🏞️❄️
As the excitement builds, we're eagerly awaiting the arrival of our kids, who will be joining us in just one week. That leaves us with only 5 days to do as much shopping as possible and get the house ready for their arrival. Can we pull it off? Stay tuned to find out! 🏡🛍️

Meet the Bags Packed Family: Jonathan and Kelly, along with our three adventurous children. Nine years ago, we embarked on an incredible journey, leaving our home in Alaska, USA, behind to explore the world. As teachers, we were fortunate to find amazing opportunities in Chennai, India, where we spent two enriching years. Seeking new experiences, we then made our way to the United Arab Emirates.
Just as we were settling into our UAE life, the pandemic struck, but it didn't dampen our spirits. Instead, we saw it as an opportunity for another chapter in our journey. We moved to Indonesia, where we currently hold teaching jobs, and it has been a time of learning, growth, and connection.
As a family, we thrive on traveling and embracing the unknown. Adventures are our way of life, and through our experiences, we aim to inspire our children to be confident in meeting new people, trying diverse cuisines, and immersing themselves in different languages and cultures.

It's really good to have your own house! Congrats John n Kelly, I'm happy for you 🥰 I can see it'll be a great house with a lot of things that your kids could do. Cedar can have some pet ducks with a pond, forest can have a tree house, and maybe Granite will have a green thumb, planting veggies, herbs, etc or maybe even wood carving 😁

What a beautiful house.
I found those trash cans under the sink were too small for our family trash but it is a great place to store shopping bags and kitchen towels! Reach in and grab right beside the sink.

I came across your page, how funny my husband and I lived in Fairbanks for decades. In July 2023 we drove from Fairbanks to Mexico, after renting out our house in town. You said Target but Theres No Target in Fairbanks lol. Looks like your in A newer Home, which was smart because you dont want any issues living somewhere else too. Winters can be really harsh so good having 3 car garage. Wish you the best in our home town. Great place if you can endure dark and cold several months a year.

Congrats you guys, so happy for u! We live in a similar wooded setting on Vancouver Island, beside a provincial park, it’s the most relaxing setting with kids. You will love that wood stove for cozy winters, I love the season changes, one thing that will always bring me bk home to Canada.
