I wouldn't have touched that bike. Bald rear tire, missing tins, too tall ape hangers, shotty workmanship. Those all add up to a young buck doing burnouts, fantasying about being a custom bike builder and playing an experienced wrench on weekends because his mom let him change the oil in her car when he was14. Then again, I'm an OG and know what I'm looking at.

Dude, I literally just bought a 1994 Dyna Wide glide with 20k miles on it for $3k cash straight off Facebook marketplace. Clear title. Rode it home, did full oil change, primary and spark plugs. Shes a top notch bike mechanicaly and cosmetically a 8.5 outta 10. ALWAYS TEST RIDE A BIKE BEFORE YOU BUY IT CASH. I wish you luck in the future with this money pit.

First of all, you need to buy yourself the right length cable. By yourself a front fender or you hate yourself when it rains. Also go through the whole Bike and make sure everything is tight. Those particular years are shakers. They’ll shake everything loose.

Its getting old?! So if you had a 1965 Corvette you would just get rid of it instead of throwing new tires on it and tossing a few bucks into it to get it running good? Old is somtimes better than new. Especially the way things are made today.

My guess, compensator needs to be replaced. Does it sound like a starter problem onces its been ridden for a bit? Or clunky went you try to start it? New compensator would fix it and you'll find neutral really easy.

@Jamescrev451 here were my symptoms. Cold start: was perfect. No issues. Rode for 10 to 15 miles. Stopped at the store or gas station. The restart hot was horrible. Clanking, starter acting like it was jamming. Or a big click and no power like my battery was low. Then started. Hard to find neutral. I was first told my starter clutch was bad. Nope, not it. The compensator springs collapsed. Installed a new comp and she was like new again. Zero issues.
