Federally you don't need a CDL for non commercial use, regardless of weight. Some states may require though. Also looking at a derrick truck for building a house. Guess I'm not the only crazy one

Nice truck! Does the boom tilt? And is it four-wheel-drive? I have a buddy that has a similar truck and we were able to add extensions to get 80 feet or more, small loads only…… I also would recommend looking into getting a farm exemption if you’re using it for your house and what not only, with insurance you can be legal with plates

How much you pay? I have one from Comed old fleet, I pay 3500 on 2012 Still works every day in the coldest days starts no problem, that can handle with all extensions in about 6 tons, mine lift 6 tons, it’s a 1997
