Thank you for showing me some emergency prep ideas! I live on the coast of Texas, where hurricane Beryl is about to hit. I have prepared as much as I can today, cleaning up my yard and making sure nothing is loose. Tomorrow morning, I will pack my car and pray my home is here when I return! Thank you for all of your suggestions!

Hi Linna! Yes, it is good to have an emergency box prepared, but I hope that you don't forget to put away also water, first aid kit and some vitamins. And also a helping way to not waste food, if you stick a paper on the two box with the expiration date. 🤗 best regards!

I had to laugh after husband bought the expensive massager & then you said good bye husband (before he could buy anything more! Lol). I loved your pantry haul. I have to admit, I get disposable plates now & then during summer months! Sometimes the heat just makes you tired. Your simple dinner turned into a banquet! K definitely loves his food. I love it! Thx for sharing!

For easy overview of dates/year - I would put a label on the shelf (the front you see when opening the pantry) or the container and put the items that expire in the year closest to now in the front of the container...Just my idea of what i would do :)

Hi Linna, You didn't have to discard the rice items. Rice, pasta, and other dried goods will remain good after their best before date. They have to put a date on everything because it's the law. But dried goods can be used long after the date has passed. The taste can become a bit less, but that's all. Same with spices who have a best before date. You can still use them after that date. Only fresh goods like meat and dairy (except yoghurt) need to be used before the best before date. If you have yoghurt, it will become thicker and sometimes a bit more sour, but you can still eat it without any problem.

I too do small, but useful stock ups in case of a hurricane or snow storm or a water disruption situation. We recently experienced an earthquake and some tornadoes which is very rare where I live the U.S., but it's good to be prepared for life's craziness. I really should purchase a small butane stove like you have. It's a smart back up for power outages. Great video!

I love hydrangea season!!! I know it's rainy and gloomy and hot outside but these flowers just cheer me up. They have such great skincare devices in Japan, but when I have to charge them by plugging it in to an electric outlet I have a problem; here in the Netherlands we have a much higher voltage then in Japan (230V instead of I think it is 110V in Japan) so I have a problem charging them here. I need one on batteries, or perhaps usb so I can charge with my computer. I think with the dry rice it is and at least good before date, so I would use them up now. I still have something similar I bought during the pandemic and I'm making that now for lunch or something. As long as it's stored dry and dark it's usually okay. I also in the future want to make a list an put it in my datebook so I can know when to use things up. Otherwise I forget. Matcha and espresso pudding sounds great! I wonder with so much kamaboko, would it be great to make a tempura ten don with it. That onigiri mold is so handy; I have one that just makes 1 at the time.... great for a bento for my daughter but not for dinner or lunch for the whole family.

What a great purchase! I bought something similar a few years ago for my husband for Christmas. Everyone in my family, including myself have used it, especially when I come home from work ( I’m a carer in a retirement home). That and a nice soak in the bathtub with lavender essential oil Epsom salts, are perfect for sore muscles. I too, have a pantry with both dried goods and cans of fruit, in case of emergencies. As usual your meals look tasty and well presented.

Hi Linna! It is great that you are preparing for bad weather and natural disasters. My family also has to do the same here for tornado season. It is somewhat rare that a tornado hits the area, but it has happened before, and it is very scary. We mostly stock up on canned foods since they are much easier to eat, and cheaper in some cases. We have plenty of dry food and canned food for my cat, as well as an extra carrier in case we can't get to her normal carrier and a reusable litter box and litter. We also have two first aid kits (I am first aid certified, so I have an extra one to help others if it is needed) and plenty of water and dissolvable powder drinks like lemonade, energy and caffeine drinks, and vitamin drinks. The head massager is so cool! It certainly looks like it is worth what you paid for it. I hope it is useful and helps relieve aches and pains! It is a little scary though haha, I would be scared it would hurt me. Best wishes to you and your family. Please continue to stay safe!

We are in Hurricane Alley here and it has already started. The husband says expiration dates on dried foodstuffs is a suggestion. As long as the package remains intact and not opened, it is good. I need to get one of the stoves with canned cooking gas. Brilliant.

Miso has a salty taste, and it’s difficult to describe other than that, but it’s delicious ❤ Darker miso like red are fermented longer so they have a saltier flavor, whereas white miso is a little lighter and sweeter. Both can make soups and be used as a flavoring, definitely try them out! ❤
