Don't get Tenergy on the forehand or you will develop a slow spinny stroke with zero pace in the style of Boll and Mizutani.Use the power of your body to hit past the opponent.

I've tried both Tenergy 05 and 64, along with other rubbers like the Stiga Airoc M and Airoc S. For me personally, Tenergy 64 is the best out of the Tenergy's, and also the best rubber I've ever played with. As I'm using a pretty stiff blade, (Timo Boll ZLC). The Tenergy 64 feels easier to control than the 05, even though it's faster. But they're both very good rubbers, and well worth the 60$ price tag, due to material quality and the awesome playing expirience. The choice is simple - Tenergy!

From what I read in the forums, those who are used to Chinese tacky rubber with low throw will like Tenergy 25. It can generate heavy spin yet is less sensitive to incoming spin. Away from the table though, it is harder to generate power.

Tenergy rubbers are constantly evolving, they are being perfected year to year, but most other brands use a quite different sponge and topsheet variant for plastic balls to give the "traditional" feeling of the game. How will the Tenergy series react? Will there be poly versions or there will be only poly version or mixed version of Tenergy for both celluloid and poly balls?

  • @ButterflyEurope

Gergely Iski Thank you very much for your input and question, Gergely. According to the extensive research of our research departement with more than 15 members there is no negative influence by the new balls on Tenergy rubbers. On the contrary! Especially with its high grip and the curved ball trajectory Tenergy even proves advantages when being used with the new balls. Please remember that also there is not "the" plastic ball, since there are many different variations of balls. We will soon launch complete new balls, Made in Germany, which again use totally different material and will be giving different reaction. Only one thing is sure: With all the new balls, it is more difficult to produce dangerous balls with rotation as it was before.

People play it on the backhand if they can't punch with a hard flick, which creates spin. Think of it like stabilizers on a child's bicycle; They can't create enough spin on their own, so they need the high throw and max spin. I think it's trash on the backhand because I have a Primorac-esque backhand. I use the Primorac Carbon as well. I prefer something like Dignics 05 on the backhand, or even the Rasanter R50-R53. They throw straight with a ton of speed, which means you can have a much higher accuracy with punch-counters or counter-blocks. Where you punch it, it goes pretty straight at it. However, you do need to swing for the fences when the ball is kinda low, or it bounces shorter on the table, with a 2nd bounce nearly happening. But, that's what I prefer to do anyway. When someone uses Tenergy 05 on the backhand, you can probably assume that it's like stabilizers. Serve deep with topspin to their backhand side as your mix-it-up surprise serve. And during rallies, try to hit your fastest topspins towards the center of their abdomen. Guarantee Tenergy 05 backhanders will struggle to hit backhands in that spot, especially if you play the ball deep on the table. Dignics 05 backhanders won't struggle there. And as a side note: Someone who uses stabilizers on the backhand is likely to move too far on the backhand side to hit a forehand, trying to usually hit it cross-table inside-out. As soon as they step, move to get the cross table, and block it straight down the line on them. The reason I say they're more likely to do that high-risk move more often than most is because it usually means they want to win points with their forehand by nature. Forehand players like that tend not to have patience in a rally. So, they take the first chance they see. This means you can bait them by going to their forehand 2 or 3 times in the same sorta spot just on the backhand side of the table, then hit one much wider that goes over the side of the table. Hopefully, they'll step way out to get the forehand, as they probably don't transition from several forehands to a sudden backhand very well. Chances are, they probably can't hit an offensive shot from there with the backhand. So, what do they do instead? Exactly. Just react to their footwork right away and you should be able to make them look amateur. Either way, if you do that strategy in a rally, chances are, the ball is probably going to come back somewhat cross table no matter what when you hit the wide one. Even if they hit a backhand, it probably won't be strong and you might get a fat meatball to crush. Remember that you want to ENCOURAGE them to step around that wide ball and use their forehand. So, don't crank it too wide and deep because they'll have to go backhand. And they might get lucky and get you with the Waldner backhand block down the line.

@@ttjesus4959 that's interesting. My problem was with hitting touch service return, the incoming spin becomes much harder to deal with if you're not going for a powerful return. I now use Baracula on the backhand, it throws pretty high and easier for touch returns, while also good for flips. Hurricane 8 on forehand, works with my slam technique but I also still like Tenergy05 on forehand, though I've been interested to try Dignics.

  • @ttjesus4959

    @ttjesus4959

    4 жыл бұрын

@@hammertlme Dignics 05 is fantastic on the backhand in the short game. Dignics 09C is fantastic on the forehand in the short game. Btw, have you ever tried pushing without spin on the service return? When you don't feel confident with the height and spin, try making contact with very edge of your rubber. Don't let it touch the rubber fully. Then, just lightly lift the ball over the net with no spin. As long as you keep it low and tidy, it'll still be hard for your opponent to hit back. In fact, they may go long cuz they expect a little backspin. Btw, the reason you don't let the ball fully touch the rubber is so it can't engage the top layer and be effected by the spin. If you can just barely touch it, the spin won't really do anything to any rubber. It's very tough to do. But, Ma Long loves this technique and so do I. Once you master it, you're able to use rubbers that maybe you wouldn't have because of the short push difficulty. Honestly, it's just as good, if not better than putting backspin on it. But, that's only if you're a master and can get it just over the net and get it to drop immediately on the other side. Can't really do that with a backspin push. Also, you can do the no-spin push and disguise it as sidespin or backspin too. Other than that, you should always take the big risk and attack any ball that comes up to the top of the net or higher, regardless of spin. Just practice cranking all the different spins in all the different spots. And honestly, USE THE SPIN from the serve and learn how to let it jump off your rubber and go where you want it to go. Again, Ma Long does this when he receives anything slightly net height short on his far forehand side. He will open up and 7.5/10 times hit the forehand down the line. If it's a lefty, he goes deep into the body. He just uses the spin and lets it cause the ball to jump off his racket quickly, as he also angles his racket in the right way to pull off the shot. You'll notice that the beginning of the shot is when he lightly lets the ball jump off his rubber. And when this happens, this is how he gets it over the net. He angles the racket so the spin makes the ball go upward. Then, the rest of his shot is where he basically guides the ball and keeps it from going too high. He can also control direction a little bit. He can basically go down the middle-ish, or down the line, depending on the incoming spin he receives. But other than that, he's just doing it all very fast. Basically he just lets the ball kick off the rubber, then he guides the ball with clever racket motion. It looks like he just smacks it. But, he does anything but that. All things are attack-able in table tennis. If you don't think so, then you just aren't considering the fact that a good push could be an attack. I think learning how to attack every type of ball is critical. Then, you understand what somebody CAN, AND WILL do to you. Then, you also have weapons to deploy when you're behind a set or 2. You have to judge by what the set count is and what the score of the game is, plus who is serving, and is it their 1st or 2nd serve. You should be aware of these things going into every point. If your opponent is up by 1 point and you're tied at 1 set a piece, and it's his second serve, it's time to try to pull the trigger. If you nail it, you could have a 3 point swing in your favor very quickly. If you miss, you have 2 serves to tie it back up. See what I'm saying? Don't always worry about pushes. If your rubber sucks at backspin pushes but you love it everywhere else, then do the no spin dink and attack more serves instead. Anyway, the backspin push is very overrated. Everybody can crank them back. So, why do you want to consistently do that? Why wouldn't you want to take the chance and win the point? At the highest levels, that backspin push usually gets looped so hard, and you usually lose the point. So, it's actually better to attack because you have a chance at dominating the point. If you miss, it's still just one point against you. And attacking your opponent's serves usually makes players go "Oh shit. I had better watch what serves I do", even if you miss the first few. And that pressure right there might be enough to cause them to make mistakes. The push does no such thing to anyone. Hope this helps

@@ttjesus4959 I think you're at a different level than me, but generally when I play, I lose so many points to unforced errors from playing aggressively, and my service return game is admittedly pretty weak, as I'm trying not to commit another unforced error in that department. But yes, if I focus on attacking serves more it would let me open up my forehead more.

Hin Cheang 25 can only produce the same spin as 05 if the ball is brushed thinner. The reason the ball curve is shorter with 25 is because its a slower rubber than 05 so the spin has a bigger influence as the ball starts slowing down earlier than 05. 25 can control spin easier than 05 because it's harder. 05 is a power spin rubber from all distances, 25 is a close to the table spin placement rubber.

Someone help me? I have as a racket base a Donic Ovtacharov senso n 1 with 2 rubber Digic 09c and I have a Viscaria with 2 Tenergy 05. I love having these 2 options. Not happy I bought the Blade Butterfly Ovtacharov Alc and two rubber dignic 05 (here is the problem). I saw the Ovtacharov review and I put 3 layers of glue on rubbers and 1 layer of glue on the blade (first time I did this). What I thought was going to be a prefect result turned out to be the worst result of the 3. I explain why quickly, when I do a strong top spin, I don't have the same ball sensitivity on the blade as I have with the other 2 sets and that in moments important ones take away my confidence. I have much more confidence attacking with tenergy or D09c than with this set. My question is as follows. Is the problem with the blade? the problem is with rubber? Or is the problem in the amount of glue I put? I would greatly appreciate if someone would help me

Maybe you put too much glue on rubbers. you must peel off the rubber clean the glue from the sponge than with a thin layer glue the rubber

recently pulled apart my 280 dollar (10 year old) butterfly paddle. the rubber had failed and hardened and peeled right off. it is made of 98 percent hot garbage plywood with what I actually think is black stained plywood in 2 spots on it instead of carbon fiber. The handle looks cool though. righhhht.

Yes so when do i sell my kidney to buy one of your rubbers ? lmao. Football boots cost cheaper and they are in use for a year and more when rubbers get dusty and lack of spin in just couple of months. Pretty sad that rubbers can be this expensive. Only reason why butterfly been used more than other brands is because players are wanting to be with butterfly becasue they are not willing to pay 60 dollas for a sheet of rubber. This is so sad.

  • @KavenZheng

I played with both, and I can tell you there is a significant difference in the arc and control. Xiom has stiffer rubbers, which makes the ball curve less than a Tenergy - this makes a lot of balls to either hit the net or fall out when it would go in with a Tenergy. Today I am no longer competing, so I play with Xiom, but I do recommend Tenergy if you can afford it.

Dear Tamasu BUTTERFLY, I am having a new sensational blade by Butterfly => 1-ply Kiso Hinoki wood Cypress-S (Cypress-Square). As it is a relatively "soft" blade due to the use of full 100% Kiso-Hinoki wood, appreciate your technical team's very kind advice if Tenergy 05 or Tenergy 05-FX is the more suitable rubber to be put on my blade ? Thank you.
