Fantastic! With 7 players, you cannot expect miracles! Those ladies are not robots! They have aches and pains like us, mortals! They keep turning up, and executing! Good enough for me! Amari has a really nice 3. It's surprising.

That was messy, but there were some spectacular plays and it's getting to be normal to see Nesh and Amari out there doing well. There were some confusing moments on defense. The game got very fast and B would spread the floor and move a LOT. It's amazing nobody got hurt. One play which I really didn't like (and I saw is a couple of times) was when B would draw their players up to the top of the key, give the ball to a wing and let them fake and drive the baseline to the wide open basket. We need better communications on those to have out wing defending the base line and for someone on the weak side to come back too. On offense UConn just needed to keep moving the ball and either running set plays or set themes of screen, pick & roll, pass one way, stretch the defense and then go the other way. Motion doesn't have to be terribly fast to beat the defense, just enough to make them move and move and move. Passing is a lot less tiring than defensive movement. Lou was great, Aubrey floating through the air is amazing, Nika passing can look effortless at times and her steals are fantastic, Dorka on set plays with movements of any kind, you name it. There were some nice plays.

I can’t imagine how good this team could be if we get Caroline, Ayanna and Fudd back all at once!! This team can only defeat themselves! I don’t think any team in the country can beat this group if they are healthy AND execute the UCONN game plan?! GO Huskies!

First quarter Butler really did play well, was fun to watch and UCONN being just really lazy on easy layups and missing a lot of shots. Which continued all throughout the game, especially for Dorka. Bench players did well especially Aubrey and i think she proves game after game that she deserves more and more minutes. Lou was crucial in midgame to bring back the Huskies on the winning track by scoring after some tremendous plays, she impacted the game in a great way just as Aubrey who finally got her offense back and fought her way to the basket several times. Hope they'll keep that up in the comming games! Aaliyah and Nika played about average for their standards and i'd say Dorka did have some nice plays but all in all she must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed missing so many easy buckets.

Forcing college students to wake up early to prepare for and then play a competitive basketball game at noon on a weekend can only be considered as cruel. 🤣. Those making these schedules must have already forgotten what it’s like to be young and needing to sleep until noon every day. A slow first quarter start to this game is perfectly understandable. Lou explained it best when asked about the team playing so much better in the second quarter and thereafter, “We woke up.”. Great game ladies!!! I’m glad you didn’t sleep through all of it. 🤣🤣🤣 Huskies rock!!!!!

Sometimes Geno's overly measured responses make me long for the robotic answers that athletes give 😂.

FOUR whole quarters WITH no one going “OUT for the season???” It’s a Miracle!!!!

Defensively it was challenging because B spread the floor so well. But, they played the same offensive scheme over and over and UConn could adjust. If they had more variety to their offense they would be a lot more dangerous. Their players were consistent and played the strategy well. UConn was a bit asleep at the start and tried to get to the hoop, but couldn't. After moving to get the blood flowing they woke up and started hitting a lot more shots. The Defense might have been challenged more by a team that switched, like B, but could get the ball in the paint and score with a good matchup.

When I see her being tough I imagine her in some tough action film like a mafia boss with a Tommy gun or a space warrior or something. She's definitely a front-lines commander.

IMO - DeBerry is not for UConn. Out of place on defense; missing switches on defense; not aggressively pursuing loose balls; I've said previously, she is a product of high school coaching that did not prepare her for any next level, only to dominate girls out for basketball, not players playing basketball.
