Butch Harmon Shares Some of His Golf Teaching “Pearls”

Спорт

Butch Harmon is arguably one of golf’s greatest instructors of all-time. He has worked with countless PGA TOUR greats including Greg Norman, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods. He joins the "On The Mark" golf podcast to share some “pearls” of golf from his father Claude, Sr. Among many topics, Butch dives into golf swing theory, the importance of impact, ball-flight and trajectory, the key to repetition, eliminating one side of the target and keeping things simple. He also talks in depth about Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson.

I liked the podcast. I’m at John Jacobs Golf course certified instructor. I would say the trackman turned the equation around. Mr. Jacobs would say that the initial 2/3 of the flight came from the path of the club and the last third came from the face. Trackman instruction turns that around; the initial start line is the face in the end of the flight was from the path of the club. How about your thoughts?

I don't know how that happened. If they bothered taking to a physicist for 5 minutes that wouldn't have happened

Harmon said "Hogan had the game figured out" is simply not true. He may have had the swing figured out, but he wasn't the best putter, nor was his short game the best.

Hogan was a good putter when he was young, it deteriorated after the crash because his eye was damaged. Nothing wrong with his short game.

Buzzword, buzzword, catch phrase, cliche...repeat. Lessons learned-0 These aren't "pearls" they are rocks. When did golf instructors become experts at saying NOTHING???
