9:17 Weirdly, the Americans had launched and exploded nukes in space, and ballistic missiles go into space at their highest point anyway, so transporting nuke(s) to the moon isn't as difficult/risky as what we have done previously.

In reality it could end very bad for us if we detonate the bomb in the wrong place. If we detonate it in the side of the Moon directly exposed to the Earth, the majority of the moondust would fall on the planet. Despite none of them would reach the surface, the intense and continue falling of moondust would heat up the atmosphere. If there is enough moondust, the temperature on the surface of the Earth could rise of few tens of degrees, creating firestorms, altering climate and suffocating living beings. But only that: since all the moondust is radioactive, when it falls on Earth it would seriously damage the ozone layer. If too moondust fall all in the same point, the ozone layer could be damaged so much to create holes that permit solar radiation to reach the surface. Basically, it's a very bad scenario

i really doubt that, thats the equivalent of a few km wide asteroid impact on earth, or some super vulcano explosion also there were much bigger explosions on the moon from natural impacts in the past and those don't seem to have caused any major event on earth

@@LucasFerreira-gx9yh In the past they don't cause any major event because all the impacts that happened AFTER the rise of multicellular life happened in the dark side of the Moon, since the asteroids came from the outer space, not from the Earth. This means that all the moondust was launched in the deep space without creating any problem for the Earth. But if we detonate a full-power Tsar Bomba in the center of the bright side of the Moon, the amount of material that would reach Earth would (probably) enough to heat up the atmosphere. This won't trigger an extinction-level event, but it would create great damage and end millions or even billions of lives
