The CPKC Beaumont Sub runs from Frierson Siding near Shreveport to Port Arthur, TX. It is the last subdivision on the original KCS main line from Kansas City to Port Arthur. It curves through the Western Louisiana forests and through Leesville, which has a yard. In DeQuincy, LA, the UP DeQuincy Sub from Livonia and New Orleans joins the CPKC Beaumont Sub, and trains from both railroads make a straight shot from there to Beaumont.
Just east of Beaumont, the line joins up with the SP Sunset Route (UP/BNSF Lafayette Sub to Lafayette and New Orleans), and the three railroads cross the Neches River on a single track drawbridge. The line is double tracked from there to UP Beaumont Yard, but it changes ownership at Station 11, where the CPKC Beaumont Sub turns south to Port Arthur, and the main line becomes the UP Houston Sub. West of Beaumont, the UP Houston and UP Beaumont Subs are directional running for all 3 railroads from Beaumont to Houston: the Houston Sub for westbound travel, and the UP Beaumont Sub for eastbound.
