Welcome back to my channel! You've probably seen my other videos featuring the Rose Cafe bustier dress pattern. But today, I want to share a sewing tutorial of a hack for creating this beautiful, airy, feminine dress. I'll show how to modify a pattern to make a midi flare skirt with a slit, adjustable straps, and a bustier bodice using a lightweight fabric. The cups here consist of only two layers of lightweight fabric, supported by a narrow strap. If your breasts are on the heavier side or require more support, I recommend making foam cups instead. You can find instructions on how to create them in this video: • Boned Bustier With Foa...
I hadn't intend to recreate the dress, but it is giving those awesome Reformation dresses. So, if you're into that style, keep watching.

I love the dress. ❤
I like your version better than the reformation ones, without the ruching in the back and with the lining in the top. That detail with the straps in the cups to prevent stretching was great 🥰
Great job. Beautiful😊
Good Lawd, this dress is everything. It's stunning! Love it so much😀

I love this pattern! I've already modified it twice myself and now I'm gonna make this dress with black fabric. Maybe I'll add a corset closing at the back to make it more adjustable :)

I finished it now, but I added wider straps because I have a bigger bust and the corset back. It turned out gorgeous. Truly a great pattern :)

Thank you for the great tutorial, I am so excited to try this! Can I ask what type of interfacing you have used and whether it is different from standard fusible interfacing? Thanks :)
I would love to see a pattern for this with all these edits, this is a great dress.
I love this!! I think I've seen this exact pattern of fabric at a remnants store online in Aus. I might have to re-create it at some stage 😊 Also thanks so much for showing variations of your patterns it's so interesting and helpful! I'd still love to see the modified version of the million buttons dress that you did a while ago. I feel like its a great pattern with so many opportunities for different styles of dresses and blouses. 😊

Hallo ..i am from Algéria❤❤
Thank you for this amazing Reformation dupe pattern! I bought the rose cafe pattern which lists the amount of fabric required for the short dress. How much fabric is necessary for this longer version?

Where do you find the tailors interfacing and the interfacing strips you use? My sewing stores (Sweden) have nothing like it.
@DARIAPatternmaking
11 ай бұрын
Are you sure? I think sellers might don't know what it is called. Just look for a fusible woven interfacing with a tiny pelage, which feels, looks, and moves like fabric, but is thicker. About the strips - this is regular fusible interfacing with one direction of the stitches lines only, which I rip in strips as needed. I show it almost in every my other video ☺️
Beautiful! I was wondering, how many meters of fabric did you need for this length? Thanks!

is it absolutely necessary to use the wires? also is it possible to finish the skirt whitout using the "cutting-fabric" sewing machine?
@DARIAPatternmaking

I recommend using wires, if your cup size is D or higher. It is possible to use a zigzag stich, if you don't have an overlocker 🤍

What we call this presser foot which you're using in this video? :)
@DARIAPatternmaking
11 ай бұрын
This is a basic presser foot :) I am using a zipper presser foot to attach the lining to the zipper, and a hidden zipper foot to attach the zipper. That's all, nothing special :)

As they are made just from a lightweight fabric with no foam, of course the narrow straps are pulling the shape a little bit. I don't see nothing bad in it :)
