@@SweetieMarie21 My only claim was that you shouldn't be allowing a snake to constrict around you. But anyway, she shouldn't bring it too close to her head or neck, Snakes can take that for an aggressive gesture. She should also hold the snake loosely and only have a strong grip in her hands, not bundle it up in her arms, she did hold the snake close to its head at least (eventually). Your turn smart guy.

I really respect Shannon, Her husband, and the whole Gator Country crew for what they do to ensure that these animals are taken care of and truly rehabilitated.i also respect that they do so much to educate the public. @@kellyann5587 Even as someone who doesn't work with snakes, it's pretty easy to tell that she doesn't know what she is doing here. There are 3 main signs: First of all she grabs the snake by its tail and drags it along the floor, which you should never do when handling a snake, you are supposed to support their entire body when picking them up. Then there isthe obvious one of her having to actually wrestle with the snake to get it into the box. And last but not least there's the fact that the snake literally shits itself out of fear! If an animal does that while you are handling it, you are most certainly doing something very wrong. To me the disturbing thing here is that she doesn't see anything wrong with how she handled the snake. (And the guy isn't any better.)

notr every snake is tame so snakes are just horrible bastards thats the right way to move an aggressive snake watch any professional that will be what they do to control an aggressive snake like her husband says if that thing bites her she is dead basically. also remember she is new to this compared to her husband and is clearly still learning of course she wont be as comfortable as he is she is also a small woman men are much stronger its a big ask to handle a snake that size by yourself

She definitely did not handle him the right way whatsoever... It was so terrible to watch as a snake owner... The snake wasn't being defensive until she yanked it out by the tail and then pinned its head in her hands.. And if you're not experienced that's not an excuse to stress out the animal and potentially have you both get hurt... She should be learning with much smaller animals and working to get this snake used to people before just grabbing it like that herself. The poor thing bit itself because she didn't know what she was doing... Makes me so sad to see this :(

She should have way more training and experience before doing something that is dangerous to her and the animal because she isn't experienced enough. j davis Yeah, I hope that maybe she always had passion for working with these magnificent creatures and decided to finally follow her passion, when she became financially stable...but I'm not sure if this is what's really happening here. Seems like she went on a whim for an adventure, which means that it will probably not last at all and she will eventually run back to her old lifestyle, when she gets over the initial thrill of doing something so extremely different to what she was used to.

We have reptilian brain, so we relate to them in deep level, in some point in earth history they helped us survive to be here. That why human have fascination with animals. The reptilian was the beasts that came first to help prepare environment to human survive. There is billions of years of gaps, but the memories dont fade away. Another interesting thing, animals help human ground, it impossible having depression or mental illness dealing with animals, snake is symbol of healing, literally. There are some snakes that have kind chemistry in their poison that is able heal heart failure. People that enter in animals web, dont want leave it ever, it kind power holding them from going back to human affair. We human own them an huge gratitude, our physical/emotional system dont forget it. Everywhere in images out there, we see animals. They dominate the in virtual world. There is no scape of ignoring them. They are our roots.

What gets me is that wild animals are always going to be wild….if you raise a tiger cub, treating it with trust and respect, sleeping with it and feeding it, there is a pretty darn good chance they will never hurt you, they might eat someone they don’t know but you can be it’s family, or pride or pack or whatever….but alligators and crocodiles….There is just something that makes me believe that they are hard wired to eat you and possibly (though unlikely) wonder a couple of days later where is that thing that brings me chicken nuggets. I know they are smarter than previously believed but its brain is still the size of a walnut most of it is going to be used for survival and caring for young…. It’s like trusting a spider not to bite you….

A “bit naive”? She got into this at like 40 years of age. No prior experience. On top of that reptiles don’t have feelings. They’re not your friend. They know you’ll give them food that tastes good and until the food is coming they’ll be “well behaved” but doing this with alligators instead of animals in need that can’t survive on their own (like dogs) is such a waste of life.

A wild animal will always be wild. You might be able to "train" but you'll never "tame" them. Thanks for rescuing all of them.

Hope she lives long enough to learn. Not commenting on the snake handling, but she is getting far too comfortable with that alligator. Some animals you get second chances if you make a mistake or underestimate, some you don't.

Shannon, I'm so proud of you for pursuing your passion in alligators! It takes a lot of courage to take care of an alligator, but at least you have the courage to take care of them! Taking care of an alligator is harder than a Pitbull, but I'm glad you can take on the challenge! It doesn't get easier, you just get stronger! She is way too rough with that snake, that clearly shows that she has no idea how to handle them. I've never handled a snake before but I know that you you shouldn't man-handle them like that.

For a normal snake, that would be horrible. But that was a pretty dangerous snake, and it was big and strong. I don’t think the way she handled it was right, but it’s not as bad.

When a snake is trying to wrap itself around your neck, the last thing your thinking about is being gentle with it.

That and she threw a small injured gator missing half its face with a major disadvantage into a pond with bigger gators (another disadvantage being size). Her best bet was to keep that gator away from other bigger ones atleast until he gets a bit bigger.

She said this was the unique situation Yeah you're right lady 🤣

Husband: Shannon had this “crazy” job where she went around and hobnobbed with all these well to do folks... As if hobnobbing with gators is less crazy of a job

There are some really weird people in this country. She seems a little out of touch with the kind of animals she's handling. At least the man seemed more realistic about the danger. Hopefully no one gets hurt.

I am truly heartbroken to see the injured ones. Humans can be really cruel, but I'm glad they got rescued by good people who take care of them

I can only hope she dont get eating like Grisley man.She has love for those alligators.

Tbh she hasn’t a clue but she’s learning, but I think she’s gonna learn the hard way

Alligators were my favourite animals as a child and part of me never got over it

Pretty sure I saw a healthy dose of fear when that python wrapped her........she was stumbling all over the place, she should not be handling a snake that size.

Definite sign of panic on her face. She's clearly not fully trained to be handling or working with these animals on her own. By no means would I want her to be harmed so hopefully she gets better and wiser because otherwise this is a tragedy waiting to happen.

Dealing with people is a lot worse than dealing with alligators. And she knows that firsthand.

I like their reporte, they'd be a good team for an adventure series about animals in that area. She is lucky she found something she loves doing and a companion also.

I cringed when she had her back to the water.

No, I do not like the way she handled that reticulated python at all. First of all, pull your hair back, ma'am! You don't want your long hair getting all caught up in snake coils and keeping you from protecting your neck. Second, someone needs to work with that snake so that it's less aggressive. You should not have to hold it by the neck like a rattlesnake or something! And thirdly, the snake is too big for one person to handle it since it is an aggressive snake. I wish she had not waited so long to ask someone to give her a hand.
