    When China opens up for tourists you guys should defo visit China. The bullet trains are of a higher caliber than this one.The facade alone is totally different from how bullet trains look in China. The train looks like just the High speed train not the Bullet one in China..:) I also agree that trains are more convenient than planes to be completely honest... ahahah Train stations as well are massive in China almost the same size size as the airports.

    Got to say you are a good predictor. Well, the facade of 250km/h+ trains may or may not be better, depending on personal aesthetic appreciate. But the facade of the same 160km/h CR200J make would look way more awkward than this Laotian LCR200J. So if they take a train to Xishuangbanna, via the Chinese section of the China-Laos railway, they would see a giant green caterpillar waiting for them on the platform.

    In China, the ranking is Second Class, First Class and Business Class. Business Class in Chinese language sounds better and fancier than First Class, so the facility in Business Class is better.

    Sometimes there's one more, altogether five classes on the EMU: Business-class, *Specia-class,* 1st-class seat, 2nd-class seat and no seat. Special in the sense of special olympics, so it's also better than first class. The airplane language is also weird, as imo "business" and "economy" should mean essentially the same thing, except that those business slaves may book an economy seat while those high-class economists may book a business or first class seat. There's no guarantee that the word "economy" should mean "budget".

  • @GyacoYu

    @GyacoYu

    Well, apparently it's translated "Premium Class" instead of "Special Class", but if you read Chinese, it's the same character as the "special" in special olympics.

    @@theBeganovich this might have something to do with the top capability the locomotives and the rail have. the CR200 locomotives that run in Laos have the capability to run at 200km/hr, so is the rail laid there, but the normal/economical speed should be 160km/hr... this is consistent with chinese standards, i.e. CR400 locomotives and top HSR rails in china are capable of 400km/hr speed, but normal/economical operation speed is 350 km/hr.
