Sounds like a very inspiring trip you're heading out on along with a very robust set of kit, can tell you have a lot of experience under your belt as a result. You my friend are one of 'the' very few people who also uses Dr Bronners, that is such an under rated item for bushcrafters / hikers what with its many uses as you know too well. Many thanks for sharing Steve and hoping your trip is a great one ~Peace~

I think Google decides who we are subscribed to. I am constantly finding where I have lost people by no fault of my own. I have my Luci in my window at home all the time now so it is charged and ready and have taken it on a lot of trips. I will put it on a latrine trail and just let it go all night so people can find their way better.

LOL ! It's really just extra precaution. you could probably just leave it around the fire or hanging over the hot coals. I just hang everything scented because I had a Grizzly come into camp one time out in Montana. someone had left their food out. the game wardens taught me a lot that night as they were killing verbally the people who left their stuff out.

Really nice selection of equipment. What kind of pack are you using? I'm new to the Snugpak brand and I am impressed with what I've seen so far. They seem to make top notch stuff with no bling. Kind of a military/civilian crossover style, that I really like.

+outofeden ( Bushcraft & Survival ) Nevermind on the pack question. I saw in the comments that it is a Snugpak Rocket pack. +Blakgun I really love my snugpak gear . you're absolutely right about it being the perfect crossover. my one complaint is their stitching. they need to do a better job with that. I've had to stitch a few areas where the stitching came loose on several of my packs. but all in all I'm completely happy and will continue to buy from them. thank you for watching and commenting Brother !

Is 35 lbs with the 6lb food bag? I'd love to see you pack the bag, it looks like a lot of stuff. How much water do you carry with you on your trek? Since I got my Sawyer I stopped carrying my Camelback. Lakes and reservoirs everywhere. I just keep a 32oz waterbottle and the Sawyer. 4lb net savings in weight for me. Absolutely love it. Oh, and how was the trip?

Hey brother. That did include the food bag . There was no water in the pack at all . like you there's water everywhere I hike . I have a belt pouch that I carry my sawyer mini and a 20 Oz "smart water" water bottle in . I don't really carry a camel back anymore either . I did get an MSR dromedary bag that I carry on extended trips. once we make camp I fill it . I never carry it full . There's a picture on my instagram page with the pack all packed up and ready to go . It's just outofeden_bushcraft Thanks for watching and commenting. I'm new to all this and am really enjoying it .

Matter of philosophy, I guess. I don't carry more or less because of how far I'm hiking, but because of how I want to live in the wild. Other than the amount of food I carry, I take the same gear for a one night, two mile walk stay as I do for a stay of thirty days and a walk of a hundred miles stay.

You have a nice set-up. Just a word of advice; never, ever carry your survival kit in your pack. It needs to be on your person, if you're 'surviving', you've most likely been seperated from your pack.I say this more for the dozens of load-outs I've seen on this were people fire their survival tin or kit right into their pack. If you have to ditch your pack for any reason you wont have time to get to it.I've twice been in situations were I lost my pack (once in a river and once when I set it down and couldn't find it) in both situations I had my tin. I lit a fire, didn't panic and was able to relocate my pack. If the kit was in the pack I might not be here to write this. Canadian woods can be very unforgiving.Thank you for your contribution.

Outofeden, I just loved your load out gear. You hit everything and are down to earth-very refreshing indeed. Is there any chance sir you could take a little more time and go over "everything" including brands you use, etc? Maybe a PDF? You know your stuff (live it, nothing is shiny) and I am a firm believe in quality over crap--it's worth the investment (save, save, save).....When my butt is on the line, I want the best. Anyway, I am sure I speak for many in a detailed BOB/INCH bag platform....Again, I sincerely appreciated your insight and video. I subscribed and will be looking for more.. Thank again.

Thanks Brother ! That is probably the best compliment I have ever received. I'm going to break down my kit in a series of videos. I did one on my Billy can and contents. I was going to do canteen and mug set next . Is there anything you would like in particular?

If you have a sink it's technically not Bush craft this is what you're doing is essentially backpack just got off the boat probably have skills the circulatory item so 10 agree without really doing best craft if you're carrying a sink

Sgt. Awesome Yes a sink is not "bushcraft" . A knife,Axe, backpack etc... isn't either . Its just gear . Anything not crafted from the bush isn't "bushcraft" . Not sure of your point as your English and/or typing ability are hard to understand .

"technically not Bush craft" Actually, who cares? The issue is not some persons totally irrelevant views on BC purism, but having a good time, "practising some bush craft". I'd bet that quite a few of the old-timers would have brought something like that, if they could. That thing has multiple uses. Ditto the Luci light, which (and that's irrelevant as well) isn't "pure" BC either. And neither is the e-book reader and the (dumb)phone that I bring. Nor my high-tech head lamp. Or .. Or ..

About 80% of your gear, I own the exact same things. I own two of those lucy lights and I put my bahco in the sheath that came with my old folding gerber saw which was junk. It broke the third time I used it but the sheath was great for my Bahco with two extra blades that fit in it perfect and is still very light. I also have an ENO hammock with a seperate bug net that I hang from a ridgeline under my Oware tarp. A seperate bug net makes getting out of my hammock quick, and zippers are to easy to dammage. It really is amazing how much of the stuff you carry I also own. Have you seen the "amazing wilderness camp cot"? Check it out, it's really cool. kzread.info/dash/bejne/aIKNucZqfs3QidY.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/oIBh1rKAopTPlNo.html

Sorry for the laye reply . Yeah there's something to be said for good gear . I like the idea of an extra blade for the bahco. I've seen those camp cots . They look cool . Thanks for watching !
