Lyrics:
love and hate get it wrong
she cut me right back down to size
sleep the day let it fade
who was there to take your place
no one knows never will
mostly me but mostly you
what do you say do you do
when it all comes down
cause I don't want to come back down from this cloud
it's taken me all this time to find out what I need yeah
I don't want to come back down from this cloud
taken me all this time to find out what I need

Man this is so nostalgic. Brings me back to my teenage days. The 90s were amazing. Bush, smashing pumpkins, live, 3 doors down, matchbox 20, sublime etc..... What I wouldn't give to go back to those days.

Jane's, Everclear, Weezer...I get it! The best of days for the most righteous generation. However, you should be careful making statements like your last sentence. I uttered the exact same phrase back in early December (2019) about my pace of progress on a spiritual path and since then I've had to give up sugar...caffeine...beer and grain-based liquor...and dammit all...weed! Best of friends for over a quarter century we were. (But at least my pace of progress on my path is coming back? Hmm.) Consider yourself on notice. ;)

This was four score and a trillion drinks ago; my memory isn't what it used to be. ^_~ Bush, if my defective memory recalls, came out on just the other side of the grunge era. It was inevitable that they got lumped in, fairly or not. Sounds like blah-blah, check! Looks like, blah-blah, check! It's a dead cert! It's taken me a while to really appreciate that first record for what it really was. What is that? You tell me, sir. I just kind of keep appreciating it more and more. Cheers!

American radio was destroyed somewhere around 1998 when almost all the radio stations were bought up by the same conglomerate and the same top 40 songs went on heavy repeat everywhere. EVERY band of that era either got buried or overexposed. Bush falls in the latter category.
Man I miss the 90's. Best music on the planet. Nirvana, AIC, Bush, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, STP, Mudhoney, Cranberries, ect. The list goes on and on. What's even worse is most of the lead singers are dead from that entire era... so sad

This song gives me major nostalgia, sometimes I'll be laying in my bed thinking about earlier times and I think of this song and then I play the video. I love the alternative Grungy feel of it, the typical 90s sound of it. It just takes me back.

1990s grunge bands the best.
One of my favorite songs to this day!
One of best songs from that amazing era. Mostly forgetten these days, though! I remember those days - so bittersweet, beautiful, and dreamy. The music was so incredible.
Still listening even in 2021, geez time flies!

Sixteen Stone was one of the great albums of the 90's. It holds up after almost 30 years still.
Love the line … “summer was winter , and you always knew”. 🔥🔥🔥

Me too!! Just saw them last Saturday. I was completely blown away. I thought it was going to be a kind of "oh gosh I'm old and watching a 90's nostalgia" thing for my own fun... but it was a proper rock concert. I've seen Superdrag, Weezer, Muse... this was the most intense, pure rock concert from the guts out. Gavin totally brought it!! His voice sounded amazing and his heart was in it in a very authentic way.

You kids nowadays have no clue what our era was to us I wish I could go back there wow great times
I love it when a song is so good, it can just repeat the first verse and yet I'll still be rocking out to the very end of the song decades later.

I recently went to a show and a bunch of younger dudes performed this and they nailed it. It sounded awesome. It reminded me this beautiful music is not dead. Great tune.
One of those songs that you leave on repeat
I had a cousin back in the days this was on the radio that was the only other wild child in the family, and also a decade my superior. She quizzed me at a family gathering about what music I was listening to lately. I answered: "Lots of Bush and of course Metallica as always". She smiled and told me she had a Bush tape in her car stereo and was listening to it on her way up. Friggin legend. Love you Carrie!
2023 and im here! this is classic music. never gets old!

So did I! This was summer 96 I think, the 3 toured the US. No doubt was a completely unknown band and would only play a few songs. People would do enormous mosh pits for “Machine Head”. I was 17 at the time, thought it was incredible. Saw them in Witchita, Kansas, first relevant concerts of my life.
