Buses at the temporary Belgrave Station Bus Interchange - Melbourne Transport

In this video we visit the bus interchange at Belgrave Station; the terminus of the Belgrave Line in Melbourne's east. Well... the temporary bus interchange that is. The normal bus interchange adjacent to the train station is currently closed to make way for construction of the new multi-level car park. As a result the bus interchange has been temporarily relocated outside the station on Belgrave - Gembrook Road. The temporary interchange opened on the 13th April 2022 and is expected to remain in place until the car park is completed in mid-2023.
Belgrave Station is served by six bus routes operated by Ventura; the 663, 693, 694, 695, 697 & 699. In the video we see buses on all six routes, including some Scania L94UB's (now among the oldest buses in the Ventura fleet), some Scania K230UB's, and some more modern Scania K310UB's and K320UB's. The most prominent routes serving Belgrave are the 693 to Oakleigh via Ferntree Gully Road, and the 695 to Gembrook. If you don't have a car the 695 is a great way to chase the Puffing Billy Railway on a weekday as buses operate every half-hour; very good for a peri-urban part of Melbourne. Other routes of interest are the 697 where we catch the illusive 10:30am service to Fountain Gate Shopping Centre, which only operates one round-trip on a Thursday, and the 699 which seems to run whenever it feels like it, driving where it feels like on its way to Upwey (ie, two stops away on the train).

I remember going through Belgrave to school in the early 90s. Usually if I was on time I'd catch the bus from upper ferntree gully, but as I was often late I would have to catch the bus from Belgrave. I have often wondered what happened to the old bus driver. All the school kids knew his name (I think it might have been john) Ps I also wondered if the busses still stop at the top of the mountain like they used to, as I thought they went all the way over between Belgrave and croydon these days
i live on the 699 would be great if it was clear when this actually ran. the paper timetables are inconsistent (with the one at Upwey CFA saying there's 2 services on a weekday and no services on weekends) and obviously it's wrong online since it runs at an inconsistent frequency. would save me a lot of time (and energy) if i could use this to get up the hill
should film some buses at fountain gate, you get every route except 697 on Friday afternoon between 2pm and 5pm

5:15 just like the 757 scoresby to knox city dew years ago was with my nan at knox city waiting for the 757 said was in 5 mins well an hour later no bus same thing with my mum waiting for 732 at clyde st we see a double header school holiiday service a man deslin and a nother bus our bus not come next one not come one after that arrives and its the desline from the double up 3 services ago on a ft g service runs when it whants

you should film school buses in yarra junction after noon as some martyrs high floors still in use on them 35 now gone 22 soon as myki reader removed beutiful zfs was on 22 2 weeks ago and siting at back hear reg engine but heard a nother one sounding same time as main one but this one made a b10 sound but only hear b10 sound from inside at back less used so act now to film some high floors in reg use at school buses
