Strict is the key for Filipino drivers! Bong is DOING THE RIGHT THING to instill discipline to motorists!

Last night, around 12mn. I passed by Edsa northbound, and there were like 20 to 30 people crossing Edsa infront of Sm megamall to go to the bus lane. Stopping vehicles by waving their hands . All vehicles had to suddenly stop. The weird thing is, they didn't seem to be PWDs as they were fast walking, almost running. I think MMDA should do something abt this before accidents happen. Similar things also occur infront of Centris and Guadalupe.

Jaywalking on EDSA?! Ridiculous! Sadly, anti-jaywalking enforcement is so lukewarm. One time they're so strict, then the next time it is as if jaywalking is encouraged. I'm not suggesting that this be done but there was a time when jaywalkers were made to stay in "cages" near Shaw Boulevard. The point here is that jaywalkers should also be penalized to hopefully put a stop to jaywalking, especially on main thoroughfares like EDSA.

Walang alam gawin ang mmda kundi gumawa ng trap para makarami sila ng huli! Yung mga ganyan jaywalking balewala yan sa knila. Mas malaki ang kita sa trap nila. Mas gusto nila manghuli kesa magmando para sa kaayusan ng trapiko. I believe DOTr already said before, they will install elevators. They could consider escelators. Maybe reconsider the 1 billion pesos assigned to bicycle lanes. Especially since they're just full of motorcycles anyway. Imagine, a bicycle lane costs P1,000,000 to P3,000,000 per kilometer. There's a lot of other things you could do with that money 👍

@@shrock6629 I'm not doubting the benefits of cycling. I was cycling every day for a long time. I was an active user of the bicycle lanes. But I had to stop because it was too dangerous with all the kamote riders that weave in and out of the bicycle lanes . I got bumped a few times, but never fell down thankfully. I saw riders that knocked down cyclists and ran away. Nowadays it's hard to find a bicycle lane in metro manila, which isn't full of motorcycles. When the bicycle lane is costing P1,000,000 to P3,000,000 per KM, but can't actually be used by cyclists... 🤷

It's a nice to have a penalty that equates to the amount of how much is the brand new unit of their car they drive. Example: if they're drive a sedan worth around 700K- then their penalty is worth 700k plus impound. I bet, that lane will be cleared from private vehicles.

It's not a data privacy issue because there's no expectation of privacy in a public place. I blur the plates of violators because their penalty comes from the ticket given by the enforcer. The purpose of the video is to educate and inform, not to embarrass a specific individual.

These drivers don't even care at all even if they get caught. They should really increase the penalty so that these so called VIPs would think twice passing thru the bus lane.

Yeah, like 1k won't do shit to those who own millions of pesos worth Car(s), we need to increase the base to around 5k and make it scale far higher for expensive luxury cars.

A professional speaker would correctly gauge the time to their destination and plan enough time to get there.

MMDA should install CATS EYE along the lane to prevent motorist driving along the lane and prevent over lapping the bus lane.

I own a car, motorcycle, and a bicycle. I drive and ride them all regularly everywhere including edsa. I have my driver's license and started driving way back 2016 and never have a single traffic violation. Even when I ride my bicycle, i can proudly say that I abide all traffic rules and regulations, and impose total self discipline even when I ride my fat burner vehicle. All the same thing when I drive my car and ride my motorcycle. Ever since the existence of that bus lane, my tires never tried to land and roll on those particular lane. Also when the motorcycle lane exist, I never tried to get off that particular lane when riding my motorcycle. With all of my riding and driving experience whether in a car, motorcycle, or bicycle, I can clearly say that I have full understanding in all situations. Definitely, there are totally unfair treatment in motorcycle riders compare to car driver, and more unfair to bicycle riders compare to motorcycle and car riders and drivers. No one will ever understand others situation unless to take off your shoes, wear their shoes and live with it. Everyone who just drive a car, or ride a motorcycle, or ride a bicycle will ever understand and will be narrow minded to get the benefit of themselves. Whatever you drive or you ride, we all deserve a fair treatment. Why? Simply, everyone is a taxpayer. Even poors community who just bought the cheapest thing in the Philippines, that thing includes tax. Sad to say, the reality is that the treatment is totally unfair because they never live and will never live in others life.

Implementation of traffic rules SHOULD always be strict. When one makes exceptions people will always expect that they should be given leeway for their violations.

Buses, shuttle services, trains shuttle numerous people daily. If these services get late all the time, just imagine how many more people will be buying cars and causing more traffic. Better to give way. While motorists need just one trip, these transportation need to go back for more people within the rush hour. May seem unfair, but really these transportation help motorists too. We want to encourage more people parking their cars and using mass transport.

Is there no chance of installing softer barriers like rubber nets or similar? So, instead of concrete ones that pose a hazard, the softer barriers (would technically) be less hazardous and avoids private vehicles in the bus lane to serve and escape to the normal traffic?

When they removed the barriers from the flyovers and tunnels, they put bollards there. They were hit and destroyed in a very short time 🤦 And I'm sure you've seen the plastic bollards for bike lanes, flyover splits etc.. people just drive straight over them. I remember when the bus lane was just new. They used the orange plastic barriers, but people were literally nudging them out of the way with their cars, so they could get into the bus lane 🤦 I'm not trying to dismiss the idea. There probably is some kind of solution. Just gotta find one that works with so many entitled and stubborn drivers / riders.

They need those hydraulic bollards that can be raised or lowered so that an officer can radio through to control to let vehicles pass through when required Alternatively they should deploy the ones they have in the uk that can sense a bus vs other vehicles and if an unauthorised vehicle tries to enter it really damages the car.

If a solar road stud costs P9,000 - I can only imagine how much a modern hydraulic bollard costs 🙈 But cost shouldn't be the only factor. After all, there's another billion pesos that's about to be spent on bicycle lanes - many of which will probably just be filled with motorcycles.

There should be ground level crossings at the bus stations at the edsa bustations. the bridges to get out of the stations are down right inhuman ( like in guada where you have to walk up 5 stories just to cross a street)
