Man, most people don't know the MASSIVE influence Burundi drumming has on the West, specially in punk/postpunk music. I can think of several bands who were influenced or even defined by Burundi drumming: Adam And The Ants Bow Wow Wow Wide Boy Awake Culture Club Adam Ant Republica PiL Icicle Works Gang Of Four Siouxsie & The Banshees KILLING JOKE [r.i.p. Geordie Walker] Ministry ....not to mention ALL THE OTHER BANDS these bands all inspired! Thank you, Burundi, for inspiring several of the best bands of the last 45 years! Other awesome African bands.. Djuluka Amanpondo Konono No.1 LEARN FROM THEM

They've been here before. It was the Ragumba drummers that visited us and performed at the Castle in Cape Town a few years ago.
