Seriously, I also would play this game for hours. Including the demolition course track. Of course the recent games are completely different. I am sure even back then they must’ve given a mature rating due to the violent car crash scenes, and multiple explosions. Kinda like a GTA, but without any weapons.

I'm 24 and still got my Xbox that I've received as a birthday present in May of 2005. It came with Forza at the time. Second game I gotten with it was burnout 3. I need to re hook it up. Been a few years. Ran good last time I played it.

The thing is, it's saver to have half arcade half simulation kinda games. These 100% arcade games aren't for all. Sadly, because they sell like cupcakes. This game was awesome.

Burnout 3 is the only racing game that could ever make me cry... It is crazy how much this game makes me cry every time I play it. Who would have ever thought a racing game could be so emotional? So many different elements combine to make this game such an emotional experience for someone who actually experienced it back in the day when it was new. Every one of the kickass early 2000's rock songs on the soundtrack has the perfect combination of uplifting happy energy, emotional sadness, and nostalgia from a by-gone era that some of us still hold onto so tightly and never want to let to... Thinking about all the memories of playing this game with my dad and what life was generally like back in 2004/5/6, and how most young people will never know what it was like and how us old people will never be able to go back... Thinking about how great and unique the Burnout franchise is and it's practically dead since we haven't gotten a new game since Paradise... Thinking about how there are no other racing games like Burnout, no other franchise offers everything it does and does it so well... The developers did such an amazing job with every aspect these masterfully crafted games, including all of the experimental elements of Paradise... Thinking about how the devs at Criterion did such a great job creating and perfecting the BEST racing game franchise OF ALL TIME for us to enjoy... Thinking about how impressive the technology and quality of the game is despite the hardware limitations of running on the PS2 and Xbox... Thinking about how no other franchise will ever give us the same experience... Every time I boot up this game and get to the main menu it never fails to give me goosebumps because of all these different things... What a game...

Crashing your brothers car into a truck was a satisfying thing as a child.

I love how the super type 1 was the only car that survived the race

This was a huge change from Burnout 1 and 2's simple arcade racing to a more action packed racing experience

This is my childhood anthem, so many hours of just pure crashing fun. I was the best at the Takedown Mode, I always managed to crash a big truck. I remember this one time I crashed a tanker. Ahhh great times.

+hitch20000 Burnout 3 was released 7 September 2004 in North America, 10 September in Europe and 14 October in Japan, for PlayStation 2 and Xbox. The chances for an HD remaster version are near 0% sadly...
