I'm not a Burnley fan, but the fact that the Luton Town commentator laughs when the goal is given tells you all you need to know about that decision. And it's not VAR's fault, it's just refs who can't apply the rules of football.

Yeah I agree with that. Could argue that the keeper went down too easy, but I reckon he reaches that easily if a player doesn't back into him. And yeah, VAR did nothing wrong, that's a bad decision from the refereeing body.

@@khylelewis the keeper sets himself to jump and the forward deliberately backs into him! It's a foul all day long. Reading the comments, defenders of the goal are using the verbal sleight of hand "The keeper wouldn't have gotten it anyway", to justify that ridiculous decision. No one can tell if the keeper would have gotten to it or not, and it's academic anyway because the obstruction on him means he couldn't even try! 🤷‍♂️

I have been to Old Trafford this season when Luton played there and honestly I was really impressed by Luton fans! They were amazing and supporting all the time. Credit to them as well.

Their player impeded the Luton keeper during their goal! No one mentions that? At the end of the day you will get decisions for you and against you in football, it’s part of the game.

Trafford only has himself to blame. He's a good shot stopper but he has issues commanding his area (which was evident throughout the game). He probably needs to put on a bit of muscle and develop that "this ball is mine" attitude that all great keepers have. Credit must go to Doughty's cross, it is whipped in viciously and this is the reason that Trafford misleads it so badly. Trafford initially moves away and (too late) realises his mistake. He then does what all good keepers do, clatter in to somebody and "earn" yourself the expected free kick. Once he hesitated he was never reaching that ball. In fact, it goes over Adebayo, then a Burnley defender and then Carlton heads it. OK, I get what's going on here. 95% of the time the ref would blow for a foul and, in that case, the commentators would go "he's let the goalie off the hook there!" And VAR is such a issue now that people tend to overreact. Add in the last-gasp timing and the fact that this was a real six-pointer then I can understand Burnley fans being unhappy. But Burnley (who way outspent Luton last summer) had plenty of chances to attack (but Kompany subbed to a 5 at the back formation) and looked to time-waste. The added-on was mainly due to Traffords theatrics every time he got the ball (which he might want to reconsider) and it was karma that the only card of the game was his yellow.

That laugh at the end got me. Haha😂

I dont blame them for giving the goal. That was a Neymar level flop by the gk.

Possibly a foul on Adebayo. A goalkeeper is not entitled to walk through player in his way.

You have proven that success is the result of determination and effort. Happy! This is an inspiration for us all.

I know some people will complain that was a foul on Trafford, here's my point: First, Adebayo keep looking at the ball, which means he had no idea that Trafford was coming, that's more like Trafford ran into him and failed the high ball. Second, Kaminski was blocked by Gudmundsson in Burnley's goal, if Luton's goal had been disallowed, Burnley's should have been disallowed too. So yes this judge was fair imo.

If Adebayo was looking at the ball the whole time, why did he run away from it (and the defender) into the goal keeper? Don't attacking players attack... the ball? Adebayo runs away from it lol

The goalie obviously is going to the ball and collides with the attacker with no obvious intent from that player to restrict his progress. The GK creates the contact - it would be harsh to disallow the goal but I see why Burnley are upset.

Justice done. First off: we deserved much more than a point from the two games we have played against them this season. Second off: Their goalkeeper Trafford was rolling around on the ground every time the ball came anywhere near him. He was playing the clock down from the very kick-off. It is a win for football that Burnley didn't win this game. As home side and against one of their relegation rivals they parked the bus. Third Off: Trafford came running out and into the back of Ady. How is Ady supposed to see what's going on behind him. In fact its the Burnley number 18 Ekdal who backs into Ady. Trafford deliberately collapsed to the ground thinking he would get the decision. To me, it was like when a player dives in the box trying to fool the referee. This time it didn't work.

Ady looked over his shoulder and knew exactly what he was doing. It was a deliberate block and a foul. Luton didn't deserve to lose the game but a foul is still a foul.

There were 2 such incidents in the Man City vs Liverpool game a couple of weeks ago. Both were ruled out for foul. I can't really use logic but for there to be consistency, this goal had to ruled out.

Neutral here. IMO that's not a foul on the goalie. He was well outside the box, the force of contact was about equal from both sides, I'd even say that the goalie went to the body more, the only difference was that the goalie threw himself to the ground. Fair decision and good VAR work.

The Luton player didn't play the ball. He watch the trajectory of the goalie and put his body in order to stop him. It's a clear obstruction. Thus a foul. This goal shouldn't have been given

The VAR clip and the replay although zoomed in, don't show the incident as clearly and fully as the broadcast camera. If watched from 1:23 in slow motion at 0.25 speed, you can clearly see Adebayo raise his right arm and shoulder, angle his hip and step into Trafford's body to block him. This is not the action of someone who doesn't know where the keeper is. And peripheral vision does exist. Btw, I'm a Luton fan and I'm glad we got a point at least. But we got lucky.

Burnley's goalKeeper runs into Abedayo. Adedayo has his back turned to the keeper as he is fighting off a defender while looking up to make a play on the ball. Clearly, there's no obvious evidence of Adedayo making an atempt to obstruct the goalie. No different from when an attacker runs into a defender with no play on the ball, just to get a call-- The keeper misjudged his run to the ball in a crowded small box.

It was a completely legal block, in American Football.

That's got to be some kind of a joke, i don't support any English team anymore(I supported Liverpool for the past 20 years of my life until 07/10/2023) but that goal that was given to Luton is the epidemy of the word unprofessional clownery. Now I've seen the goal I can't believe how Burnley are whinging about it. Once a keeper comes out of the 6 yard box for a cross he has to compete for the ball like any player. Great header by morris well deserved he's been off it a bit so im delighted for him and as for the Burnley keeper who all night had been catching the ball no problem even got a bang on the head as he fell back to catch another in the second half then you can easily see adebayo had his eyes on the ball and he's pushed the defender away to try and get his head onto it hes ended up backed into the keeper who when down well easy so no foul and its another time wasting noment of cheating by Burnley as they were doing it all game, great result for us COYH we are the famous Luton town !!!!
