Parallels to Kirby Smarts first few seasons are eerily similar. I know being close doesn’t count, but they were a made FG away from a natty in a game they lost their best offensive weapon for the majority of the second half. Last season they lost to the eventual national champions by 1 score in a game they were on their side of the field with a min left. They are right there and as long as you keep putting yourself in those positions eventually you are going to break thru.

JJ is a big factor but the bigger factor is having to replace the whole oline. Edwards only averaged 3.4 yds per carry last szn behind the best oline in CFB which is not elite at all, if Quidshon judkins were behind that line last yr we would prolly be having the conversation of him ebing up there w reggie bush, edwardse will be exposed this yr as fraudulent

Huge Ohio State fan here. I think TUN is going to shock people this year especially on defense. My one concern for them is not just losing Harbaugh but losing Jesse Minter as well.. even with that great talent on defense if you don’t have the right guy to manage and put the guys in the right place to be successful that could have an effect. Honestly, I feel like Ryan Day's job is secure. I know he's lost to UM the last three years, but he's been consistently in the playoff since he took over for Myer. And who would you hire to replace him at this point? Also, if he's gone, we might lose guys like Hartline who is a WR recruiting monster.
