Burning incense: A bridge between the human and spirit world

As Chinese New Year approaches, fortune-seekers begin to spend time praying at temples. Burning incense is part of that tradition.
Incense or hio is believed to be a bridge between the human and spirit worlds for followers of the Tridharma (Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism). Smoke rises high into the air, symbolizing the connection between the prayers of living people and God and their ancestors. (JP/Donny Fernando)

I would love to have one of those large incense sticks but I'm afraid I would set off all of the smoke alarms in my neighborhood. It would totally be worth it though.

It’s crazy because I thought my mum was talking rubbish but she told me that she stopped using incense cos it can invoke spirits, whether good or bad ones you won’t know until it’s too late. I originate from Ghana in west Africa where spirituality is taken pretty seriously. Knowing Chinese are spiritual people themselves the title makes perfect sense. Those massive ones will have Satan or a whole angel tryna climb down your chimney like Santa😭😂🤣

This is really interesting, I’m so glad I came across your comment and this video. I’ve been trying to find info because every time I use incense to “cleanse” spirits come to my home (nothing dark). I have been so confused because incense is supposed to clear energy not draw it. I’m wondering if I should stop using it all together. Do you have any more info? Every spiritual book and video etc encourages incense and this is the first time someone has confirmed my experience

I’m West African too (half Nigerian) maybe I experience this due to my ancestors? I’d love to hear more on the subject if you know anything. Thank you

@@shadiarashida3138 I’m bad at simplifying my sentences so be ready for a read lol… Sorry I’ve been searching myself with no avail, this video title is the closest thing I’ve found hence my comment. My mum used it when I was a baby/toddler then stopped when I was around 4/5 of age.. I asked a few years back and she said why vaguely and then only a few weeks back I asked why again because this post triggered me too, she stopped what she was doing and told me the reason. “You don’t know who’s made the incense, people can be spiteful for no reason at all and anyone could put harmful spells on it when making such incense. Not every spirit may be bad but at the same time you have no clue what you’re invoking and inviting into your home. You’re better off drying out something like sage yourself and burning that just to be safe” She said she saw faces within the smoke of it and never used it again. I believe not everything is found in books, I wouldn’t recommend it due to my personal religious beliefs but I also believe in each to their own and wouldn’t judge another… but going to an elder who is also a fetish priest in a remote village of Nigeria or Ghana and having an in depth conversation with them may just clear up any questions you may have about it. And again I apologise about the long ass read Miss😅🤦🏿‍♂️

This is glorious, I been tryin to find out about "spiritual guide incense meaning" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Banulian Lonameron Breakthrough - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some decent things about it and my friend got cool results with it.
