Bon Clay spent years in Alabasta, and then monts in Starvation Hell. So I guess he's pretty used to heat by now.

Remember, bon clay was able to match Sanji for a short while, who at the time could kick the crap out of giant beasts already. So it makes sense he would be on level three.

In case someone hasn't mentioned it yet, Impel Down is based on various cultural myths and stories about hell: - The setup with different torture levels that get worse as you go down is based on Dante's Inferno, though other mythologies like the Buddhist Narakas also have various hell realms. - The first level with the razor-sharp trees and grass is directly lifted from the Buddhist Naraka myths and are popular depictions in the Thai "hell garden" tourist attractions, which are super bizarre and disturbing. - The animal jailors are riffs off of Ox-Head and Horse-Face, guardians of the Chinese underworld.

Bon-chan is one of the Best Character Development from a villain in Shonen. I literally get excited everytime I hear “BON-CHAN”

Bon's song has him singing it both lines "Okama Way" and "Oh Come My Way". Doesn't really make a difference which one he's saying or which one it's subtitled. The play on words is interchangeable.

Somehow Impeldown is the most gruesome but also the most wholesome arc

I absolutely love this arc. There are such a big variety og characters and areas throughout it. Not even mentioning the character interactiones.

Eichiro Oda: Making LGBTQ Characters badass before it was cool. Fun Fact: According to Oda-Sensei, Bon Clay was born in the East Blue, same as Luffy. That has nothing to do with the story, but I thought it was neat.

@@devadathans5506bonclay makes several references to being both "a man and a woman", which would put him under the trans umbrella. at the very least, he's a cross dresser. hell, the subtitles *literally* translate okama to mean queer (the q in lgbtq). so i think it's *you* who doesn't understand bon's character or what being lgbtq means. sit down and shut up if you don't know what you're talking about.

honestly i pitty Magellan, his DF power sounds so awesome but then you remember it is paramecia and not logia he isn't made out of poison he can only produce and manipulate poison so every bit of poison he digests will hurt him, thanks to his DF and exposure to the poison he is mostly immune but not immune enough to not have diarrhea that's one of the most inconvenient DF's in the story.

bro... poison is one of the deadliest powers in any world. saying "you feel bad it isn't a logia" underestimates how powerful a Paramecia version is. i mean: Luffy could not beat him at all. sure, maybe if he had haki, but i doubt it would protect him from the air borne poisons. unless you are immune to poison, you will either have the worst pain of your life or die. don't underestimate it just because it isn't a Logia.

'okama' is a pejorative in japanese, it's often used as a slur and shouldn't be used at all if you're not part of the community! i think the translation was changed to reflect that-- in the way 'queer' can be used pejoratively, but some lgbt people choose to reclaim it and use it for themselves when they have a less static identity. i think it's a pretty elegant translation! queer has a similarly flexible & broad meaning (':

@RuffSenpai So the bit about Bon-chan's tagline of Okama Way changing into Oh Come My Way is largely a translation/censorship issue; there's a whole section about it on his wiki page. Basically, the manga always refers to him as an okama but, when they first started the anime, they replaced any instances of his speech or design that referenced okamas with euphemisms or censorships; like how his fighting style is Okama Kenpo, but back during the Alabasta arc they called it Ballet Kenpo or replacing any signature move with the word okama in it with swan (like swan dash when he was chasing Carue). To the point though about Oh Come My Way, the censorship was relaxed enough by the end of the Alabasta arc that his parting speech used Okama Way. However, later on, Viz Manga decided on that Oh Come My Way censorship translation and it stuck in the anime as well; even though they still allow him to refer to himself as an okama in other ways. That's why there's a difference in the anime from then and now.

For me dressrosa was the first bad arc. Beginning was fire but when things like franky vs senor took over 80 episodes to end it was just annoying. 95% of the shots were recycled from previous episodes. Now Zou is good but i cant get the vibe back. Feels like dressrosa destroyed my enjoyment for whats to come in one piece :/

But i think that they should have done filler arc after Fishmen island, but idk why toei is avoinding doing more filler arcs like that...

Bon is Back! And Mr. 3 ain't happy about it, after all Bon was meant to assassinate him and in their cover story Bon and 3 crossed paths which led to his imprisonment. But they do let him out, and unlike the duo Bon wastes no time in rushing to Luffy's aid, because Bon is a true friend. More of Impel Down's guards are coming out of the cracks, the tamer of the big beasts Sadie; who's just a crazy and torture-thirsty bitch appears to ensure that the area is sealed off with everyone inside. Escape has now been severely limited. With Ace and Jimbei, Boa has arrived, and her presence has caused quite a scene with the prisoners, so it's time for Magellan to get real scary real quick, his Venom powers is nothing to scoff at...but in that chaos, Boa relayed a message to Ace: your brother is coming for you, but Ace fears that very thing. Bon arrives at the scene as Zoro, a nice bit of fun as the two friends reunite as Bon looks to go to Level 5 himself to meet someone - the Queen of Okamas and a Miracle person, Iva-san. Rather than wait for Level 4, the awakened zoan beasts come to Level 3, Minotaurus proves more than enough for Bon and base Luffy, but is knocked away thanks to Gear Second...but he also knocked them to where 3 and Buggy are so down they come too. It still is Okama way, but some subs use it as 'Oh Come My Way' because Okama is not used in English, similarly to how Nakama is sometimes just translated as Friend when referring to the crew. Level 3 brings more heat, and brings the four together for a combined attack to finish Minotaurus, but the force made them destroy the ground as well. As they fall we see who inhabits Level 3: Daz Bones, Mr. 1 himself. Outside of Impel Down though there's more rumbles, Shanks has just come into conflict with another Emperor, Kaido. Turns out Shanks held off the Emperor from attacking Whitebeard at a decisive moment, there's enough tension as it is. Magellan devises his pincer against Luffy, using the grunts to pinpoint his position as he comes to handle the interloper personally. The Rubber Man faces the Venom Man.
