56 yo disabled vet (Iraq 2006) Snowboarding has changed my entire life. I'm one of the oldest women I know riding in summit county, CO. I watch films and go try what I think I've learned. Full body protection has kept me from dying. A few cracks and pops later, I'm 16 days into our season. Just rode two storm days and my legs are like jelly, heart is full. Best buds out there are the young guys/grrls. They watch out for me and help. We don't leave our own behind. Love is in the air. Full-speed ahead! Thanks for the film, it's beyond words.

It's not about the celebrities of boarding. It's about that feeling you get going down that run, that back country, everything that changed your view on the world. It's about the freedom you feel on that board.

RIP Craig Kelly. What you did for snowboarding will never be forgotten. "There is a peace in the silence of the backcountry, There is a beauty in the white of the greatest peaks, There is a serenity in the carving of winter's bounty, There is an awe in the levity of our farthest leaps, To those who know such elation, Is bestowed the greatest gift, To know the sensation, Of riding adrift, The most beautiful of God's creation, A land of exploration and wintry pleasure, Where snowboarding holds our deepest admiration, Always and forever." This goes out to all snowboarders, let's keep this sport alive and better than ever.

As soon as I heard "it all started with ny little board" a wave of emotions flooded me and I cant stop crying. I am so greatful to have grown up in a time and place with my parents in a position to take me to the ski hill when I was 7 ever since then snowboarding has been my expression of joy. Maybe its cause my dad just died and it was his love that brought the mountains into my life. Maybe its cause snowboarding is the only thing in my life that I will choose to do till I die. Maybe it has more to do with how beautiful it is to be so free in the mountains and the skills, life lessons and friendships I have made through the bond we have. Maybe its all of that and so much more I cant explain. I know I will never forget, and the love will never die as there is nothing more peaceful and satisfying to me than being in the mountains with family and friends sliding on the soft pillowy freshness that is snowboard life. Thank you for reading this...

This documentary seriously brought me to literal tears. I fell in love with this sport only a month ago and I still remember the first time I was able to actually ride. The joy and that feeling, truly indescribable. I had no idea any of the history behind it and it makes me so happy to now know. I may have only started a month ago but after my 4th day ever I bought my new set up because I realized that I wanted to do this for the rest of my life. I'm planning on going to CU Boulder for college and all I want is to be a pro. If I can't I want to be that snowboarder that kids look up to in the ski resort who's absolutely shredding and making the entire resort there playground.

My dad taught me to ride when I was 9. He started riding on one of the OG sims boards. Now at 50 he is still riding sims. Not as often or nearly as hard. But snowboarding is something that means so much to me, and to him. You don’t have to worry about anything up there. With some good friends or by yourself. It’s the greatest place on earth. I try to introduce as many people to it as possible.

I am at a loss for words, what you people did and what all snowboarders have done for themselves and for the progression of the sport is truly beautiful. Society rejected it, we persevered and proved to the world that the feeling you can get from riding on the snow with a plank and some straps can turn into one of the most amazing feelings out there. Thank you so much everybody at Burn for making this. This is a beautiful piece of art.

Snowboarding changed my life. As a kid I hated sports. Then, on a cold February day during a school trip I strapped into a snowboard and managed to link turns on the very first day. The next winter was particularly snowy. One day, I was alone on the peak of the hill, chest-deep in powder, clouded by fog and silence. That day I found not only peace and wonder for the hill, but a taste of heaven, for surfing powder was like riding clouds. Every year I cannot wait for the first snow. I

The first few days in the snow was rough,, but after 1 season (10+ days) doing it, I started to enjoy the activity. The experience when you finally get down your first bunny hills, doing the S turn, or even riding down the chairlift without falling is awesome. Like this sport and will continue to ride. -- Written on March 2022 -- -- by a beginner snowboarder -- Thanks for the documentary and all the great people that made the sport so huge today.

Amazing documentary. It takes me back to when I was a young 80's kid.. As a US northeast skateboarder and skier, hoping and waiting for snowboarding to become accessible to my friends and me, I remember wearing Sorel boots to ride, not being allowed at ski resorts, and riding snow covered backyards and golf courses--building jumps and carving hay-bail quarters and halfpipes with shovels. Those early beefs served as motivation--a competition that drove everyone to do great things, push boundaries, and evolve.. much like space exploration. Without Jake, Phil, Chuck, Terry, Palmer, Craig Kelly, Terje, Tina Basich, and countless others, who knows where we'd be without them. They all shaped the activity of snowboarding in positive ways and formed what we have today. To this day, snowboarding is the funnest activity I have ever done. Thank you to all the pioneers and progressers of snowboarding, no matter who you are. You have given me, and many others, a gift to always cherish.

This movie made me realize how much i love snowboarding. The feeling of snowboarding is one of the best in the world. I will never forget the first time i stood on the top of the mountain, it was amazing!

That was so well done. It made me love snowboarding even more, which I didn’t think was possible. It really seems like it was born multiple places at once, like something was just in the air that had to be born.......... Beautiful.

Awesome movie! Truly enjoyed it! My one little gripe is there was no mention of the 1st ever snurfer/ snowboard contest at Pando Ski Area outside of Grand Rapids, MI in 1979. But, awesome movie no the less!

I'm 44 yo and have been riding since I was 10. To this day there's nothing else that I enjoy more than sliding down the mountain. The vybe and serenity you get is as good as it gets. It's cool to see the roots on screen, the roots that I grew up with. I wish younger generations of snowboarders would watch this to learn where the sport has came from. Also stoked to see dayglo and swallow tails back on the slopes

Awesome movie! So awesome it's available free of charge on KZread. It not only gives a great history of snowboarding, but also does a great job of sharing the spirit of snowboarding as well.

Great documentary and I think captured what it was like to be in the middle of the snowboard lifestyle. I live in Breckenridge 94-98 and rode and friends with so many that are now considered legends. At the time there was definitely a feeling that we were involved in a new movement of just living life to ride. Great days and many memories.

Great movie, really appreciated what SIMS & BURTON did for the industry not mentioning the riders who were one of the finest ever . R.I.P to all those who died trying & doing what they loved to do, on the other hand respect to all who are doing this for passion and fun as that is why I am doing this for past 10 years and I cant stop .
