Dessert is a must have after a meal, isn’t it? There are too many choices of desserts around the world as well as many local desserts in each and every region and country.
Today, I would like to introduce you the Burmese dessert which is one of the traditional desserts and served as a breakfast or afternoon snack. It is a famous and popular dessert that you can find it either at the wet market, supermarket or street food. It is a sweet dessert (but not too sweet) and its texture is soft and smooth.
The ingredients are just a few; Rice flour, jaggery liquid (if the jaggery is not available in your region, you can substitute sugar, plum sugar but the taste will probably not be the same). It does need time and require continuously stirring to have a velvety smooth texture. In my mind, it is like an “arm workout” while doing the dessert 😉
But you will absolutely satisfy the final result once the dessert is ready to serve.
The smell of jaggery, soft and smooth texture and the taste is not too sweet and garnish the grated coconut on the dessert is just a perfect match. I totally enjoyed the dessert 😋 and had a great time to reminisce the taste of the Burmese dessert in oversea. 😉
