In this video, I drove from Burlingame to San Carlos California via El Camino Real.

Burlingame, California is a charming and vibrant city located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Known for its tree-lined streets, historic buildings, and beautiful parks, Burlingame has a small-town feel while also offering all the amenities of a big city. The city's downtown area is filled with a variety of shops, restaurants, and cafes, perfect for a day of leisurely strolling and window shopping. In addition, Burlingame is surrounded by many hiking trails and parks, such as the Burlingame Hillsdale Caltrain station and the Burlingame Open Space Preserve, providing plenty of opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Burlingame is also known for its excellent schools and safe neighborhoods, making it a great place to raise a family. All this makes Burlingame a desirable place to live, work and visit.
SAN MATEO:
San Mateo, California is a vibrant and historic city located in the Bay Area. One interesting fact about San Mateo is that it is home to the world-renowned Hillsborough Castle, which is a stunning French Renaissance-style mansion built in the early 1900s. The castle was once the residence of the wealthy and influential Crocker family and was designed by the renowned architect Willis Polk. Today, the castle is open to the public for tours and special events, offering a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of the Gilded Age.
Another interesting fact about San Mateo is that it is home to the College of San Mateo, the oldest junior college in California and the second-oldest community college in the United States. The college has a rich history, dating back to 1922, and has served as a launching pad for many successful careers.
San Mateo is also known for its vibrant downtown area, which is filled with a variety of shops, restaurants, and cafes, perfect for a day of leisurely strolling and window shopping. The city also has a rich cultural heritage and hosts many festivals and events throughout the year, such as the San Mateo County Fair, the San Mateo International Heritage Festival, and the San Mateo Art and Wine Festival.
Lastly, San Mateo is a great destination for outdoor enthusiasts, with its many parks and nature reserves, such as the San Francisco Bay Trail, the San Mateo Creek Trail, and the Sawyer Camp Trail. It is a place that offers a perfect blend of history, culture, and natural beauty.
SAN CARLOS:
San Carlos, California is a city located in the San Francisco Bay Area, and many people might not know that it was home to the first airplane factory in the Western United States. The factory, called the Western Aeroplane Automobile Company, was established in 1910 and produced airplanes for the U.S. Army and Navy during World War I. The factory was located in the area that is now known as the "Aviation Corridor" and was instrumental in the development of the local economy.
Another interesting fact about San Carlos is that it was a major center for shipbuilding during World War II. The city's shipyards built and repaired a large number of ships, including the USS San Carlos, a Liberty ship that was launched in 1943.
Additionally, San Carlos is home to a famous clock tower that is located in the heart of downtown. The clock tower was built in the early 1900s and is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. The clock tower was originally built as a water tower, but was converted into a clock tower in the 1960s.
Lastly, San Carlos is known for its beautiful and historic architecture. The city has many homes and buildings that were built in the early 1900s and many of these buildings are still standing today. They offer a glimpse into the city's rich history and are a reminder of the city's architectural heritage.

Far different for my time living in San Mateo 60's and 70's . First place when arriving in the Bay area was the Hillsdale food court. Scanning the paper for a rental while eating . Not long after they removed all of the palms bordering El Camino . Now with all the changes looks like driving Highway 17 through New Jersey . Almost bought a Tudor style in house in Burlingame on El Camino . 35k in 64 Haaa ! Should have bought it . Thanks for the Vid !

HAHAHAHAHA...Freaking Burlingame. Some of the highest housing prices in the country, huge state and city taxes and the road still looks the same it did 40 years ago. It's amazing so many of the same stores are still there from back in the cruise days, like Heidi's Pies. I have not been down been there in over 5 years but still know every building and intersection like the back of my hand. I spent most of my life in the area but glad I never have to step foot back in that toilet state again. We bought a house in Texas 2 years ago, and we love it.
